我是伴随着共和国改革开放的历史成长起来的那一代人。我上小学是在1977年,那时刚刚粉碎四人帮,整个国家风气焕然一新,举国上下开始狂热地重视教育。1987年参加高考,我成为了黑龙江省的文科状元。那一刻我就知道自己要走出黑土地,开始人生的远行了。高考的第一志愿我非常坚定地填报了北京大学经济管理系的国民经济管理专业,这个专业当时毕业后大多会分配到国家各大部委。我还记得在大一的时候有一位同学喝醉了说,“咱班这帮人,有谁是今后不想当总理的?!”年少轻狂啊,也可以说是书生意气。现在回想起那段时光,简单,幼稚,不知天高地厚;但是真诚,单纯,满脑子的理想主义。那就是我们永远无法忘怀的八十年代,这种家国情怀可以说早早地就植根于我们这代人的内心深处。1991大学毕业后,我一边工作一边联系出国。92年当我拿到美国学校的录取通知书的那一天,正巧是单位在传达小平同志的南巡讲话。后来回想起那个时刻,我总觉得非常神奇,而我们这一代人每个人的命运确实是实实在在地和国家的命运交织在一起。当时,花了父母半生的积蓄购买了一张机票飞向大洋彼岸,但我知道,这应该仅仅是故事的开始。在美国的西北大学获得博士学位之后,我任教于弗吉尼亚州历史悠久的威廉玛丽学院商学院。大概是2000年左右的一天,英国《金融时报》最新全球MBA排名出炉,这个排名在相当程度上代表着每个学校的“江湖地位”,所以我赶快上网查看。看到威廉玛丽学院排在四十多名,还不错,之后顺着往下看,突然在九十多名的地方看到一所叫CEIBS的学校,后面标注的国家竟然是中国。当时一所中国的商学院能进入世界百强已经够让人震惊了,更何况CEIBS这个缩写让我一头雾水,完全无法和任何一所国内名校联系起来,这就是我和中欧的“初见”。2004年我打算回国,一张机票,送我来到了中欧访问。一踏入像江南园林一样的校园,我就被深深吸引了,这里典雅、质朴,充满诗情画意。之后进行的学术报告会以及和各位教授的讨论交流也都非常顺利,相谈甚欢,然后我回到美国没多久就收到了中欧的offer。可是,我到底要不要移居上海这座陌生的城市,加入中欧这所与我完全没有任何渊源的年轻学校呢?这是一个重大的人生选择,于是我给时任副教务长的张维炯老师回邮件,就offer中的各种细节逐条询问和确认,写完邮件,我发现自己问了大概有十六七个问题,觉得实在有点儿多,只好自嘲地加上一句“不知道这是不是您收到过的问题最多的回复邮件”。很快,我就收到了张老师的回复,张老师先非常坦诚地承认这确实是他收到过的问题最多的回复,然后就一条条地,非常耐心地,没有一点推诿地回答了我的每一个问题。在和中欧沟通的过程中,我被中欧的专业、坦诚、严谨和高效折服了,我能看出这所学校确实是一个能让人认认真真做事,简简单单做人的地方。于是2005年的6月,我又买了一张归国的机票,正式开始了我的中欧旅程,这是我人生中最重大的决定之一,近十五年来我对这个决定从来没有后悔过。 岁月如流,从我第一次知道中欧,19个年头已经过去了,而我应该说已经把自己最好的年华献给了中欧。作为回报,我收获了一份工作,一项事业,和一个温暖的大家庭。当我坐在中欧的办公室里,再一次看到英国《金融时报》公布的全球MBA最新排名,中欧已经跻身亚洲第一,世界第五的那一刻,我真的是感慨万千,我也为自己身为中欧教授的一员感到骄傲。我知道这背后还汇聚了许多位同样在使命和机遇的召唤下加盟中欧的同仁,凝聚了每一位中欧奋斗者的青春和热血。让我们一起向他们致敬吧!
