General Witchfinders: The British Horror Podcast
59 - Terry Nation's - Survivors / The Fourth Horseman (1975)
In this episode of General Witchfinders, we revisit one of the most unsettling and prophetic dramas ever broadcast by the BBC – Survivors (1975), created by Terry Nation, the man behind the Daleks and Blake’s 7. Specifically, we’re talking about The Fourth Horseman, the chilling first episode of this 1970s British post-apocalyptic classic.💀 Trigger warning / content note: this episode contains discussion of global pandemics, mass death, and social collapse. If the subject feels a little too close to home after recent years, we completely understand if you choose to skip this one.Survivors imagines a world whe...

Computers are the future
EP 37 Advice from 1995: "There is one particular area which seems to have a lot of promise. This is in computer networks. It seems the whole world is moving into high gear with the use of computers." Even saying that 30 years ago, little did we know the extent computers would evolve. And an almost typhoon.

EP 36. After the Nikko parade, we are ready to eat. There are hundreds of stands, so we’ll just start at the top and eat our way to the bottom, trying a bit of this and a bit of that as we go. EP 30. Not an easy task, shopping for the perfect coffee cup, and then how to find Tex-Mex in Tokyo? I asked Bill where El Torito was; he had no idea even what part of huge Tokyo it was located, only a name and he didn’t know what it was the name of. Whiteness and Capitalism with Eleanor Hancock
In order to understand the disconnection, alienation, and immiseration wrought upon us by capitalism, it’s imperative to understand this social and economic system’s reliance on separation — separation from nature, from each other, from ourselves, and, crucially, from our histories and lineages. White supremacy, for example, is not only an essential component in the creation of a class society within capitalism, but it also serves as a tool to separate us from what our guest in this episode refers to as our more animist, traditional lineages. Eleanor Hancock is the executiv...
