Jackson Mayor Chokwe Lumumba is under investigation for a possible violation of campaign laws
He's already embroiled in a federal bribery scandal, and according to WAPT, incumbent Jackson Mayor Chokwe Lumumba is now under investigation for a possible violation of campaign laws. His primary election night campaign speech was posted on the city's official Facebook page and has since been removed. Directing, requesting, or permitting an employee to render any aid to a candidate while the employee is being paid is a violation of campaign laws. The city's communication director has said the post was her fault. Attorney General Lynn Fitch's office confirmed it has opened an investigation into the matter.
