Es ist möglich, die Band gemeinsam im Live-Verfahren aufzunehmen, aber die gängigere Methode ist das Overdub-Verfahren. Dabei werden zunächst die Rhythmussektionen von Schlagzeug und Bass mit einem Guidetrack aus Gesang und Gitarre sauber aufgenommen. Anschließend werden die anderen Instrumente Spur für Spur hinzugefügt.
