替代性创伤（vicarious traumatization）：简称 VT，这一概念是由 Saakvitne 和 Pearlman 在 1996 年提出的[1]，最初是指专业心理治疗者，因长期接触患者，受到了咨访关系的互动影响，而出现了类似病症的现象，即治疗者本人的心理也受到了创伤。替代性创伤的主要症状表现为：厌食，易疲劳，体能下降，睡眠障碍（难以入睡、易惊醒），做噩梦，易激惹或易发怒、容易受惊吓，注意力不集中（Cunningham, 2003; McLean, Wade, & Encel, 2003)；对自己所经历的一切感到麻木、恐惧、绝望，并伴有创伤反应与人际冲突。
创伤后应激障碍（ PTSD）：是指个体经历、目睹或遭遇到一个或多个涉及自身或他人的实际死亡，或受到死亡的威胁，或严重的受伤，或躯体完整性受到威胁后，所导致的个体延迟出现和持续存在的精神障碍。PTSD 的核心症状有三组，即创伤性再体验症状、回避和麻木类症状、警觉性增高症状。
