CrowyoteThe CuckooThis version of the Cuckoo was recorded and performed as part of my IG live stream in late October 2020. I've been working on this song since about 2018, and this is the penultimate draft of my 2020 lyric version. I constructed this variation of the tune on instrumental John Fahey's "Variations On The CooCoo" and studied Clarence Ashley's folk performance of the work. The Taylor 352ce 12 string guitar used for the track was tuned to DADGAD down a minor third.

This piece is dedicated to the mysterious disappearance and death of Patricia Pardin, the Blue Scout, who's bones were discovered in Death Valley in 2006 and to Carlos Castaneda and the rest of his cohorts.
This is also my first mixing and mastering experiment w/ Ozone Advanced 7. What fun!

My first recording with my new Epiphone Elitist Byrdland w/ Nylon Tape Wound Strings on all six slots.
The guitar went into a Bogner Duende Seco Mojado. The Effect Loop out to a Fulltone Tube Tape Echo into the Analog Outfitters Scanner set on the slowest possible settings with lots of Vibrato Gain. The TTE's stereo Channel went to a Moog Super Delay w/ a Metasonix KV-100 in the effects loop.
A single take performance w/ no edits.

The Guitar was fed into a Bogner Duende Mojado the effects loop was fed out to a Fulltone TTE into the Analog Outfitters Scanner Vibrato Unit out to the main channel of the Bogner with the tremolo engaged on max depth and speed. The stereo output of the TTE was fed into a Metasonix KV-100 Assblaster into the Stereo Channel of the Bogner.
