Colossians 4 Paul ends his letter to Colossians with encouraging them to devote themselves to prayer, thankfulness and being watchful. He also said “let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so you may know how to answer everyone.”
1 Chronicles 16-17 king David teaches the people how to honor and worship God. Chapter 17 is a beautiful description of how David loved God.

1 Chronicles 14-15 is a summary of King David’s war victories and how he brought the Ark of the Covenant correctly back to the city.

Ephesians 4 is so beautiful how Paul teaches the Gentiles that they are made a new. My favorite part is when he says it begins with the attitude of your mind.

Proverbs 20 seems to have a theme to all actions have a reaction or consequence either good or bad. He is warning us that we take full responsibility for the outcome of our actions.
Ephesians 3 is Paul explaining how there is no more separation between Jews and Gentiles.
2 Kings 20-21 King Hezekiah, good guy, dies in chapter 20. His son Manasseh did evil in the eyes of the Lord and rebuilt all the alters to Baal and idol worship.

The Old Testament is getting dark because the kings are so evil. These are stories people like to avoid but so much can be learned. Maybe if people read the stories of old we wouldn’t be repeating it today.

1 Kings 8 the spirit of the Lord enters the Temple of the Lord. Solomon prays for the people.

Psalms 147 the writer also explains the character of God.
