Avārijas dēļ pirms trim gadiem viņa nonāca ratiņkrēslā. Pansionātā Elvīra nokļuva, kad par viņu vairs nevarēja parūpēties ģimene. Savukārt Saldus pašvaldībai, no kurienes nāk Elvīra, nav bijis ratiņkrēslam piemērota dzīvokļa.
