Helping To Pave The Way
Miss Gwen Lord - Trailblaizer - Miss Lord was one of Quebec's earliest Black teachers and administrators with the Protestant School Board of Greater Montreal (PSBGM), now known as the English Montreal School Board (EMSB). In the early 1970s, with the influx of Caribbean immigrants to Montreal, Miss Lord was appointed by the EMSB as the first Black Liaison Officer. Her pioneering efforts served as a model for other school boards.
