Pancakes, Pocket Crosses, And A Very Busy Cafe
What happens when two neighbouring churches decide to think bigger than their own walls? We gather with St Stephen’s in the heart of Norwich to prepare for Lent, swap stories from a thriving city café, and open a brave conversation about Christian nationalism—how faith can be misused to prop up identity politics, and how we can respond with humility, scripture, and neighbourly love.Edward sits down with the new vicar of St Stephen’s, Reverend Heike, to talk about shared ministry a stone’s throw apart. We compare worship styles, celebrate the café that welcomes hundreds e...

Black History Year
Did you know that 2026 is the 100th anniversary of Black History Month? This annual observance is a necessary correction in a nation that too often erased or ignored the full story of Black American life. In 1926, historian Carter G. Woodson launched Negro History Week so the contributions of Black Americans could no longer be dismissed as footnotes. What began as a week became a month. Now, in the 100th year of this celebration, we’re asking a bigger question:What if Black history was not confined to just one month? In 2026, The Unhidden Minute proudly an...

New Year’s Resolutions, Wise Men, And A Wheelchair Bringing Gold
January asks us to breathe, so we do—taking stock of a bustling December and opening the door to slower, sturdier intentions. We trade brittle resolutions for honest check-ins: what did we start, what can we finish, and where do small acts make a cold month feel warmer? From there, the season’s tail—Christmas tide into Epiphany—becomes a living backdrop for stories of craft, care, and community. We share a visitor’s reaction to our community-made crib, first built in the pandemic from reused materials and added to each year. It’s striking, not just for its look...

Edward Carter: The Long Road to a Congressional Medal of Honor Award
Edward Carter was an American soldier of mixed race. He fought the Japanese in Shanghai. The fascists in Spain. And the Nazis in Europe. And on March 23, 1945, Carter single-handedly wiped out two machine gun nests, a mortar team, killed six Germans, and captured two more, despite being wounded five times. For his actions, Carter would - ultimately - receive the Congressional Medal of Honor - although it would take more than 50 years to be recognized. This is his incredible story - which is filled with tragedy and heartbreak - as well triumph. Sources

In our interview we talk about planning large-scale sculptural works, the influence of Edward James' "Las Pozas," and Clawson's time creating public art with inmates in Montana state prisons.
