PlenaryPlenaryEdwin Nebblett: Radical: Burning, Balance or Flame Out?A 2012 article reported in the Archives of Internal Medicine that 45.8% of physicians surveyed reported having either emotional exhaustion, depersonalization or low personal accomplishment in their work. A Harris Interactive online survey in 2013 revealed that 60 percent of healthcare workers felt burned out on their jobs. The Wealthy Dentist surveyed their readership in 2000 and 81% of dentists reported professional burnout in their careers. Why is this so? What can be done?
