1942 kam die letzte Oper des „Rosenkavalier“-Meisters in München zur Uraufführung. Während Europa im Bombenhagel versankt, debattierte auf der Bühne eine adelige Gesellschaft in einem Rokoko-Schlösschen über die Frage, ob in der Oper Dichtung oder Musik wichtiger seien? Hatte man damals keine anderen Sorgen? Kann man „Capriccio“ jenseits solch zeithistorischer Betrachtungen ernst nehmen?
