「本気でやっていなかった。ごまかしていた。流していた。」あなたは自分の「本当にやりたいこと」を見つけましたか?40代になっても「これだ!」と思える情熱に出会えていない人は実は珍しくありません。今回の「人生配信オンリーワン」では、「私は本気でやっていなかった」と率直に語る豊田さんの人生の転機をお届けします。憧れの出版社の最終面接で「自分らしさが発揮できなかった」就職活動で初めて味わった挫折が、彼の人生観を大きく変えることになります。当時の就職活動で、出版社は激戦。周りは就職塾に通い、徹底的に準備を重ねている。豊田さんは自分のやり方で挑んだ就職活動。そこに後悔はない。しかし、面接で問われて、面白いことを話せなかった。「緊張もあった?中身がなかった?いや、自分らしさを発揮できなかった」話したいことはたくさんあったはずなのに、自分らしさを発揮できないまま終わった面接。これまで順風満帆だった彼が、初めて「望めば得られるものではない」という現実に直面するのです。「出版社に入りたいって言いながら、本当に全力でやっていたか?実はやってなかったんだと思うんです」そして高校の先生から「君はこの大学に入るべきではなかった」と言われたことを思い出します。高校の先生に「本気でやってないな」と見抜かれていたんです。「もっと頑張ればあそこにいたかもしれない」リクルート入社2年目の広告会社でのコンテスト。「どうでもいい」と思っていた表彰式。しかしMVPの表彰式を見た時に、上司に涙ながらに告白した言葉が刺さります。もっと頑張れば良かった。すっごく悔しい。なめてた。全力でやっていなかった。本気でやっていない。ごまかしていた。流していた。もっと出来る自分がいる。真面目に働いていなかっただろう。人生の後半で見つけた本当の情熱40代になって初めて見えてきた「大切にしたいテーマ」。それは意外にも、かつて大学の理学部化学科で合わないと思っていたエンジニアの世界でした。電気メーカーの実態調査をした時に、キラキラと輝いていたはずのエンジニアたちが苦悩する姿を目の当たりにしました。「エンジニアたちが、自分のキャリアを見えていない。切ない。このエンジニア達を守りたい。自分自身で何ができることはないのか。まだまだ自分にはやり残したことがある」この積み残し感から芽生えた使命感。そして設立されたのがenGenius (エン・ジニアス)。一般社団法人 enGenius未来を駆動する天才(enGenius)エンジニアが輝く、新たな旅先案内人。未来を駆動する天才=エンジニアの人生がイキイキ輝く世界へ。エンジニアが自身の才能と出会い、新たなキャリアの可能性を再発見する異場所を創造します。でも豊田さんは、enGenius (エン・ジニアス)のような設立を20代の時に思っていませんでした。色々な積み重ねの中で 我が事と思えるようになり、自分が大切にしていたもの、本当にやりたい事が見えてきました。 社会的な想い、そして周りの仲間たちとの想いで さらに増幅されました。人生の答えは未来ではなく、過去にあった「本当にやりたいことが見つからない」と悩む多くの人へ、豊田さんからの意外なメッセージ:「未来の見えないゴールを探すより、自分がこれまで生きてきた中で大切にしたいこと、本当にやりたい事は既にある」人生の後半になって初めて見つけた情熱。 それは、これまでの人生の中に埋もれていた「積み残してきたこと」だった—あなたの中にも、気づかないだけで「本当にやりたかったこと」が眠っているかもしれません。「人生配信オンリーワン」では、様々な分野で活躍する方々の人生哲学をお届けしています。 あなたの人生を変える出会いがここにあります。▼番組への感想、MCへのメッセージは以下までお寄せください。koji.miyoshi1974@gmail.com
