Digital Torah 1.0 - Yitro
The Torah is a 'digital communication.' It never loses its original pristine holiness, however much it is surrounded by the background noise and static of this physical world. In 1972, Rabbi Yaakov Asher Sinclair opened SARM Studios the first 24-track recording studio in Europe where Queen mixed "Bohemian Rhapsody". His music publishing company, Druidcrest Music published the music for The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1973) and as a record producer, he co-produced the quadruple-platinum debut album by American band "Foreigner" (1976). The Days of Your Life - Parshat Bo
"A day in the life, a moment of connection with God is a lifetime. Every breath we take is a world of opportunity. Every moment. Time looks like a heartless, relentless march forever forward to our end. As poet William Carlos Williams said, "Time is a storm in which we are all lost." But is time a rapidly dwindling, limited resource that we must spend frivolously before it's all gone? Maybe time isn't a desperate scrabble to use it all up – before we run out of it. The English word 'moment' comes from the Latin word momentum, im...

If you told someone living a couple of hundred years ago that the Arabs would be a force to threaten Western civilization, they'd have laughed. I heard this story from Rabbi YY Jacobson. The Kindertransport was a desperate effort to rescue Jewish children from the Nazis. During the nine months prior to the outbreak of the Second World War in 1939, the United Kingdom took in nearly 10,000 children, from Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Poland, and the Free City of Danzig. The children were placed in British foster homes, hostels, schools, and farms. Often, they were the only members of their families to survive the Holocaust. One of those children was Beryl Gartner, who later in his life told his story to BBC radio. כתיבה וחתימה טובה! In 1972, Rabbi Yaakov Asher Sinclair...

Former President of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma and Trustee with the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention, Wade Burleson is not currently involved in denominational politics. Church, community and family take up his time. If my memory serves me correctly I served on the Nominating Committee of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma when Wade was President. Those elected to serve the BGCO as President generally serve two terms unless there are unusual circumstances. We caught up with each other last week at the memorial service for our friend Art Rogers...

Grace COSSINGTON SMITH, Enid on the sofa 1957
Cossington Smith’s daring painting of Enid Cambridge is a portrait of a long-held friendship. Rather than attempting to depict her friend’s features, she conveys her in flamboyant dress, relaxed in an interior world. At the time of Cambridge’s death in 1976, Cossington Smith wrote: ‘Everyone loved Enid. She is my dearest art friend … A special quality of Enid’s is a devoted religious Faith which shone through all her perplexities and difficulties and never left her … Enid is a shining Personality.’ (National Gallery of Australia research library)
