Big moves that don’t happen. Being left out of a match day squad. Hearing you’re not good enough. Football is full of regrets and in this latest compilation episode of Football’s Greatest with Jeff Stelling, we hear some of our guests’ biggest ones from their careers. Former Australia keeper Mark Schwarzer explains how a move to Arsenal fell apart in 2010 and why it left him frustrated and upset with the Fulham manager Mark Hughes and the club’s owner. Brighton midfielder James Milner recalls how it felt to be subbed off by Fabio Capello after just 25 minutes of...

Football's Greatest: Could It Be Magic?
Best of...the Greatest Fall Outs
Football’s Greatest continues to bring you some of the best moments from the series so far. This episode focusses on the some of our favourite stories we've heard about disagreements and rivalries. Glenn Hoddle reminisces about David Beckham’s red card against Argentina at the 1998 World Cup, gives his thoughts on how their relationship was handled in the ‘Beckham’ documentary and how he feels about it all now. Matthew Le Tissier recalls his bruising encounters with Arsenal hard man Martin Keown from his ’Top 5 Toughest Opponents’ episode, what made Keown so annoying to play against and how it felt scoring agai...

Hamilton Today with Scott Thompson
By-Election, Bye-Bye. The Liberals lose St. Paul's to the Tories.
The Hamilton Today Podcast with Scott Thompson:Does the Toronto—St. Paul's by-election presage the end of Justin Trudeau? A surprise uptick in May’s inflation figures is pouring water on hopes for another interest rate cut from the Bank of Canada in July. According to new Angus Reid polling, although there is chatter of Justin Trudeau’s ouster, potential Liberal replacements offer little room for the party to recover. How important, really, is the upcoming CNN televised debate between Trump and Biden? Is it must-see television? We get an update from the City of Hamilton on the st...

Where do the federal Liberals go, politically, following the ruling from Federal Court Justice Richard Mosley on their use of the Emergencies Act two years ago, in the face of “Freedom Convoy” protests? R.I.P. Christine McVie. Dead at 79.
The Hamilton Today Podcast with Scott Thompson:The average cost of a Christmas tree is up — like everything else this year — thanks to higher fuel, fertilizer and labour costs, climate change, higher insurance rates and, according to several growers, a continent-wide shortage of trees. Shortly before we went to air, we learned that Christine McVie – singer and songwriter for Fleetwood Mac – had passed away at the age of 79. Episode 44: Diacritics Part 2
In Part Two of this series on Diacritics, Phil Thompson and Eric Armstrong discuss the intricacies of diacritic symbols and what they mean when applied to vowel and consonant symbols of the IPA. The guys follow along with the list of diacritic marks on the Wikipedia page for the International Phonetic Alphabet. The episode begins at laminal diacritic, which Wikipedia classifies as part of the “articulation diacritics”, and continue on to discuss “co-articulation diacritics” and “suprasegmentals”.

In fact, Eric’s recorder stopped recording after 45 minutes, though they kept talking for 15 more minutes... so this is merely an introduction to diacritics, not an exhaustive review of all of them. For reference, the boys work their way through the symbols following the order that the wikipedia article on the International Phonetic Alphabet’s section on diacritics takes, so you might want to follow along.
