MEPs vote for tough ozone protection
The European Parliament has voted for new bans on chemicals damaging the ozone layer. Green MEP, Grace O’Sullivan, was a climate activist in Antarctica when a hole in the Ozone layer was discovered in the 1980s. It led to a ban on widely used chemicals known as CFCs. Medical devices will not be removed from the market
MEPs have voted to delay a requirement to re-register medical devices. An estimated 15,000 medical devices such as heart valves, breast implants and catheters needed to be recertified by next year. The EU’s Brexit negotiator is due to meet the British Foreign Secretary today to try resolve concerns about the Northern Ireland protocol. Maroš Šefčovič will meet James Cleverly in Brussels.
