Gayati. Live. Breathe. Sing! Informal singing by Gauri Varma
Ghazal 'Ranjish hi Sahi' (Poet Ahmad Faraaz) (Based on Raag Yaman)
My atttempt at a favourite Ghazal by acclaimed Pakistani Shaayar Late Ahmad Faraaz. Sung by many iconic artists including Mehdi Hasan. The ghazal is steeped in romantic pathos: a lover pleads with his beloved to come to him even if she is angry or indifferent. So great is his longing to see the beloved, that he is willing to accept any reason for such a meeting, and presents various heartrending justifications to persuade the beloved to see him: to come for the sake of appearances, to honour and respond to his own love, to make him cry and even, to...

Finding your Ikigai
Ikigai is a Japanese concept that means "a reason for being". You may have seen the 4 overlapping circles, "What you love", "What you're good at", "What you can get paid for", "What the world needs. The word refers to having a direction or purpose in life, that which makes one's life worthwhile, and towards which an individual takes spontaneous and willing actions giving them satisfaction and a sense of meaning to life. Life is not only about having a purpose however, but to continue living your purpose throughout your life. In Japan, the concept of re...

Let's be honest, from School days all the way to early adulthood, there has always been the 'cool kid' and perhaps that was you. Over the course of human history we have always had powerful hierarchies that have exploited the common person down the foodchain. Without getting into conspiracy theories, the modern systems have created so many frustrations for people in life, that they boil over every so often. We are human after all.
