He witnesses the birth o...2022-11-0254 min台湾ソフトパワー台湾ソフトパワー台湾ソフトパワー - 2022-11-01_台湾のお茶が世界で注目!先ごろ、イギリスから嬉しいニュースが入ってきました! お茶の専門家育成を手掛けるイギリス・ティーアカデミー(UKTA)が主催するリーフ茶のコンテスト「The Leafies(ザ・リーフィーズ)」の発表と授賞式が26日、イギリス・ロンドンで行われ、台湾から出品されたお茶が3部門で「金賞」、1部門で「優秀賞」を獲得しました! このコンテストは、イギリス・ティーアカデミー(UKTA)が、300年以上の歴史があるイギリス王室ご用達ブランドとしておなじみの「Fortnum & Mason(フォートナム&メイソン)」と共同で、今年初めて開催した国際コンテストで、「ブラインドテスト」によって、各国からエントリーされたナチュラルルースティー(つまり、ティーバッグではなく茶葉そのものを使ったお茶)の品質を評価したものです。 コンテストは、産地、品種、製茶方法の違いなどによって分けられた36のカテゴリーが設けられ、カテゴリーごとに「金賞」が1つ、そして「優秀賞」が選ばれました。 今回、およそ300種の茶葉が集まった中、欧州アジアの多様な審査員によって審査。そして、台湾から出品していた、台湾中部・南投県埔里の「永浩茶園」の低発酵ウーロン茶、南投県鹿谷の「張三我茶莊」の高山四季春紅茶、南投市の「王寶山茶(Wang Family Tea)」の東方美人茶、この3つが金賞を受賞。そして「王寶山茶(Wang Family Tea)」の紅茶も優秀賞を受賞しました! ここ数年、様々な国際的なお茶のコンテストで、台湾茶が受賞していて、国際的にも注目を集めていますが、再び嬉しい報告が届きました。 受賞したお茶は、今後、地元の老舗百貨店「Fortnum & Mason(フォートナム&メイソン)」の店頭で販売される可能性があるということです。 イギリスティーアカデミー(UKTA)の台湾茶講師で、審査員でもある、南投出身の林韋君さんによると、イギリスでは、タピオカミルクティーだけでなく、 台湾茶は、烏龍茶、東方美人茶、台茶18号などもよく知られているそうで、今回の受賞でまた台湾茶の知名度、そして注目度が高まりそうです。 ***** そして、9月にも台湾茶が高く評価されています。イギリス発の食品の国際大会「Great Taste Award(グレート・テイスト・アワード)」で、台湾中部・苗栗県で台湾茶を製造する張家齊さんの東方美人茶が、最高賞の三ツ星に輝いています。 この「Great Taste Award(グレート・テイスト・アワード)」は、イギリスの高級食品組合が主催する大会で、「食のオスカー」とも言われています。 毎年1万点以上の申し込みがあり、三ツ星を獲得できるのは全体の2%未満だそうで、今年は110の国から1万4,205組のエントリーがあり、その中から張さんの東方美人茶が三ツ星を獲得しています。 しかも張さんは、昨年も別の2種類の東方美人茶で三ツ星を獲得していて、2年連続で三ツ星の快挙となっています。 今年、張さんが出品したのは、新たに開発した東方美人茶で、今年の気候と茶葉の状態を基に、温度と湿度をコントロールした焙煎技術を繰り返し試し、東方美人茶の伝統的な蜜の香りに加え、シャンパン、バラの花、桃、マスカットなどの豊かな風味が幾重にも感じられるお茶となっているとのことです。 その味わいは500人の審査員を唸らせました。 この三つ星を獲得したお茶は、元々は番号だけが付けられていましたが、先ごろ亡くなられたエリザベス女王に敬意を表し、特別に「クイーンズガーデン」と名付けられています。 東方美人茶は、100年前にイギリスのヴィクトリア女王が気に入って味わっていたと言われていますが、張さんの手によってイギリスで再び東方美人茶にスポットライトが当たっています。 ちなみに、昨年(2021年)の「Great Taste Award(グレート・テイスト・アワード)」で三ツ星を獲得した張さんの2種類の東方美人茶、「Luna月神」と「Flora花神」は先日、日本で行われた「世界緑茶コンテスト2022」でも「最高金賞」を獲得しています。 このように、ここ数年、台湾茶が世界から注目を集め始めていますし、台湾茶を製造する人たちも、研究を重ね、台湾茶産業を発展させていきたいと日々努力をしています。 ただ、台湾茶を国際舞台で十分に生かすには、やはり高水準の“団体戦”で、マーケティングや国際的なつながりを強化することが必要だとしていて、今後、どのように世界に向けて台湾茶を発信していくのか、“チーム台湾”としての取り組みに期待が高まります。2022-11-0100 minEmotioneeringEmotioneering77.
