Jack Benny - Kenny Baker's First Show
Today we travel back to November 3, 1935 for the first show featuring singer Kenny Baker. The formula that would carry Benny and team through the next 35 years is evidenced here. Jack and team allude to themselves being on the radio or needing to be somewhere to be on the radio. There is also a somewhat offensively (for our time) stereotypical (for the original time) portrayal of an Italian immigrant character.Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/audiotimetravel/donations

Command Performance with Abbott and Costello
Today we travel back in time to August 30, 1942 for an episode of Command Performance, which was a show done as a morale booster for the American armed forces during WW-II. One of the tag lines for the show was that they would keep going "until it's over, over there."
