This is the first of our new monthly hospitality industry updates-where Tim sits down with Wes Lambert from ARCA to break down what's happening behind the scenes that every venue owner needs to know. In this February edition, we cover everything from upcoming 30% junior wage increases, a potential ban on debit card surcharges, RBA interest rate outlook, and how to get ahead of the 5%+ wage rise expected in 2026. If you've been too busy in the day-to-day to track it all-this is your shortcut. You'll...

The Mike Hosking Breakfast
Mike's Minute: There are more good news, than bad, hospo stories
A small tip on news coverage. The media can go some small way to redeeming its reputation by asking more questions. One of the current obsessions is the closure of hospitality outlets. A café only needs to announce their closing, and the media can't swoop fast enough with a doom and gloom headline. To be fair, The Hospitality Association doesn’t help. They roll out no shortage of misery stories. Ruby in Auckland got headlines the other day after they announced they were leaving downtown Auckland. Now, Ruby isn't hospital...

The Aaron Roussos Podcast
HR Hospo & human potential
Welcome to HR Hospo — where we dig into what really happens behind the hiring curtain. I’m Aaron Roussos, and after my own experiment, I’ve discovered it’s not always the best candidate who gets the job — sometimes, it’s the dumb wits who make the cut. We’ll explore why that is, what it says about our industry, and how we can bring a little more truth, intuition, and healing back into hospitality and human connection.

Cafe calls for pathway to residency for overseas hospo workers
The owners of Wellington's Chocolate Fish cafe want a clear pathway to residency for hospitality workers from overseas. In an open letter to the Minister of Tourism and Hospitality, they say hospo work holds little interest to kiwi job seekers other than as supplementary income for students. While they commend the government's work to bring more tourists and events to Aotearoa they say the very industry that supports and serves the tourists lacks experienced workers. Chocolate Fish cafe owner operator John Pennington spoke to Lisa Owen.

03. Google I/Oで新AI機能10種を発表 タイトル:Google I/O 2025の主要発表まとめ Google I/O 2025で多数の新サービスや機能が発表されました。 Gemini in Chrome:ChromeにGeminiを統合。
