Burning Bridges in Quick, BC
The community of Quick is home to about 100 people. The village is divided on the north and south sides of the Bulkley River, connecting travellers on Quick Station Road to their mailboxes, as well as Round Lake Hall the community centre servicing Quick and the neighbouring villages.The Quick Bridge is a wooden Howe Truss bridge, structure built in 1921 and has been in service for 102 years. Back in October 2021 the bridge was closed by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure to vehicle traffic, citing an engineering report that assessed the bridge condition rating as "very poor".
