Renowned Richmond artists Ed Trask, Heide Trepanier, and Matt Lively unveil Universal Arts Teaching Gallery in Shockoe Bottom. The nonprofit space hosts a launch event on May twenty-third, featuring emerging and established talent. Regular hours are Thursday through Saturday, noon to four p.m. The gallery plans ten shows a year, offering intimate classes and challenging norms. Funded by private donations, class fees, and a low-rent deal, the trio aims to reinvent gallery models and advocate for city arts funding.
