타이완 여행ㆍ엔터테인먼트ㆍ라이프“12월 31일 타이베이 시정부로 모여라!” 타이베이 새해맞이 행사(台北最High新年城)이번주 들어 타이베이에는 코끝이 시린 찬바람이 불기 시작했습니다. 지난 주말 비가 오락가락 하는 날씨가 이어지더니 이번주 월요에는 얇은 패딩을 꺼내야할만큼 꽤 쌀쌀한 날씨가 이어지고 있습니다. 지난 주까지는 한낮 30도에 육박하는 더운 날씨였던데 반해 며칠 사이에 기온이 뚝 떨어졌죠. 겨울이 온다는 입동(入冬)과 얼음이 얼기 시작한다는 소설(小雪) 사이에 있는 이번 주, 서울은 올 가을들어 첫 영하권에 들었다는 소식 들었습니다. 부디 감기 조심하시고 항상 따뜻하게 하루하루 보내시길 바랍니다.
코끝이 쨍한 11월 중반에 들어서고 2023년도 이제 한 달여밖에 남지 않았습니다. 올 한해 마무리는 어떻게 하실지 새로운 연말연시는 어떻게 보낼지 이제 슬슬 계획을 할 때가 되었는데요. 어떤 사람들은 좋은 레스토랑이나 야외에서 열리는 새해맞이 행사 등 한해의 마지막 날을 특별하게 즐기기 위한 이벤트를 알아보는가 하면, 어떤 사람들은 여느 날과 다를 것 없이 쇼파에 앉아 티비를 보거나, 가족들과 두런두런 이야기를 나누기도 하죠. 오늘 시간에서는 후자보다 전자를 위한 소식을 준비했습니다. 바로 매년 마지막 날인 12월 31일 타이베이시에서 주관하는 송년회 및 새해 맞이 행사입니다.
2019년 CNN이 선정한 “새해 맞이하기 좋은 10대 도시(10 great places to spend New Yea’s Eve)” 중 하나로 선정된 타이베이. 선정된 이유는 바로 타이베이 도심 한복판에서 많은 사람들과 함께 한 해의 마지막날을 즐기기 좋기 때문인데요. 매년 새해 맞이 행사가 열리는 메인 장소는 바로 타이베이 시정부 앞 광장입니다. 12월 31일 저녁 7시부터 타이베이 시정부에서는 성대한 콘서트가 열립니다. 타이베이시 광장은 수많은 인파로 인산인해를 이루며 한 해 가장 핫했던 뮤지션들이 총출동해 무대를 꾸밉니다. 그리고 밤 12시가 되기 직전 콘서트 진행자는 새해를 맞이하기 위한 카운트다운을 함께 하기 위해 관중들을 향해 외칩니다. 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1! 그렇게 이듬해인 1월 1일을 수 많은 사람들과 함께 맞이한 시민들은 새벽 1시까지 이어지는 콘서트에서 기쁨과 흥분의 순간을 계속 만끽하죠. 카운트다운이 끝나자마자, 시정부 바로 옆으로 보이는 타이베이 101에서는 새해 맞이 불꽃놀이를 형형색색으로 선보여 새해를 맞이하는 사람들의 벅찬 마음을 한껏 끌어올립니다.
한국 서울에서는 지하철 1호선 종각역 4번 출구에 있는 보신각종 앞과 그 뒤 광화문 광장에 사람들이 모여 함께 새해를 맞이하죠. 올해에는 특별히 서울경제진흥원에서 주최하는 서울시 새해맞이 카운트다운 행사 ‘2023 서울콘(SeoulCon)’ 이 12월 31일 동대문디자인플라자(DDP)에서 열린다고 합니다. 지난 4일에 발표된 1차 라인업을 보니, 무려 50여개국의 유명 크리에이터들이 한자리에 보이더군요. 인도네시아에서 활동하는 뷰티 크리에이터 중 최다 구독자 수를 보유한 한국의 써니다혜(유튜브 구독자 653만), 한국의 K-컬처를 인도네시아에 소개하는 인도네이사의 비안카 카르티카(유튜브 구독자 135만), 베트남의 뷰티 크리에이터 클로에 응유엔(인스타그램 팔로워 62만) 등 유튜브와 인스타그램, 틱톡과 같이 사회관계망서비스(SNS)에서 활약하는 아시아의 주요 인플루언서들이 대거 참여한다고 하는데요. 참여하는 인플루언서의 구독자를 합치면 무려 1550만명에 달한다고 합니다. 기존의 보신각 타종과는 새로운 방식의 새해맞이 행사가 어떻게 진행될지 궁금합니다!
한편 이곳 타이베이의 대표적인 새해맞이 행사는 바로 시정부 광장 앞에서 열리는 콘서트와 타이베이 101의 불꽃놀이죠. 매년 타이베이 시정부에서 주최하는 타이베이의 새해맞이 행사는 바로 1994년부터 시작되었습니다. 천수이볜(陳水扁) 전 타이베이 시장은 1994년 12월 처음으로 정부에서 주관하는 새해맞이 행사 이벤트를 제안했는데요. 이후 2004년을 맞이하는 2003년 마지막 날 밤부터 타이베이 101이 처음으로 조명쇼를 선보이면서 그 전통이 지금까지 이어져오고 있습니다.
타이베이의 새해맞이 행사를 아시아에서 가장 매력적인 행사 브랜드로 만들고자 하는 타이베이 시정부 관광국(臺北市政府觀光傳播局)은 2022년에서 2023년으로 넘어가는 지난 행사에서 '인생에서 아시아 꼭 여행하기(一生必去 亞洲必遊)'라는 목표를 핵심가치로 내세워 행사의 열기를 한층 더 뜨겁게 했습니다. 작년 시정부 앞에서 열린 새해맞이 콘서트 무대를 채운 출연진을 보면, 타이완 싱어송라이터 9m88, 웨이리안(韋禮安WeiBird), 타이완 밴드 리샹훈단(理想混蛋 Bestards), 그리고 가수 펑자후이(彭佳慧 Julia Peng), 쉬푸카이(許富凱 Henry Hsu) 등이 출연했고요. 그 외에도 싱가폴 출신 싱어송라이터 탄야 촤(Tanya Chua 蔡健雅), 그리고 한국 가수 효린도 참여했습니다. 카운트다운 직전인 11시 55분 무렵 무대에 등장한 장안완(蔣萬安) 타이베이시장은 “행복 사명 위대 도시(幸福使命偉大城市)”를 외치며 2023 새해 맞이 현장에 참여한 수많은 사람들에게 새해 인사를 전했습니다. 그러면서 “이전에는 무대 아래에서 새해를 맞이했다면 올해 처음으로 무대 위에서 새해를 맞이한다”며, “매우 흥분되는 반면, 이따 카운트다운을 해야하는데 시간이 넘어가면 안되서 약간 긴장도 된다”는 인간적인 모습을 보였습니다.

타이베이 시정부는 지난 10월 30일, 올해 마지막 날 열리는 2024 타이베이 뉴 이어 파티(2024 TAIPEI NEW YEAR’S PARTY 台北最High新年城)의 1차 라인업을 공개했습니다. 올해에는 2022년 제33회 금곡장(金曲獎)에서 라는 노래로 올해의 프로듀서 상을 수상한 데 이어 올해 열린 제34회 금곡장에서 앨범 로 무려 8개 부문 후보에 올라 7개의 상을 거머쥔 쉬자잉(徐佳瑩, Lala Hsu)이 출연합니다. 쉬자잉 외에도 작년에 이어 웨이리안(韋禮安)이 등장하고, 2010년 타이베이의 해변의 카프카라는 곳에서 데뷔해 지금까지 꾸준히 활동하고 있는 가수 허쉬(HUSH), 레게가수 마츠카(Matzka)가 함께 합니다. 곧 발표될 2차 라인업이 더욱 기대되는데요.
오늘의 엔딩곡은 올해 마지막날 밤 타이베이 시정부 무대에 출연할 예정인 쉬자잉의 ‘게이(給)’를 들려드립니다. 2023년에서 2024년으로 향하는 길목에서 타이베이 시정부의 밤을 가득 채울 그녀의 호소력 있는 목소리를 미리 만끽해보시길 바랍니다.
