After marriage, she moved to Boggy Depot to teach at Choctaw National School. A woman suffragist, she moved to Muskogee after her husband's death to be near her daughter and husband, Oklahoma's first U. S. Senator. She founded the Muskogee Day Nursery in 1904. In 1917.
