This has led to extreme flooding for thousands of homes around the area. Unfortunately, more rain is in the forecast for the majority of this week. As a low pressure system moves through the Northeast, (bringing 6-8 inches of snowfall to New hampshire/Maine) it is followed by a band of heavy rainfall stretching from Louisiana up to West Virginia. This will drop some decent snowfall amounts to parts of New Mexico and Texas before working its way up to the Midwest where even more impressive snowfall accumulations are likely. The bulk of Mabel’s impact will hit parts of Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. Eventually, Mabel moves into the Northeast bringing 5-8 inches in some places. The other big story associated with Mabel is the extreme rainfall numbers it will bring to the already flooded Southeast.
