- Приведем такой пример. Если дети притихли, самое время постучаться и задать им вопрос: “Ko jūs tur darāt?” - Что вы там делаете?
- Да, и они ответят: “Mēs neko sliktu nedarām, taisām jums pārsteigumu.” - Мы ничего плохого не делаем, делаем вам сюрприз.”
- “Ko lai dara,” или “Ko tu padarīsi,” - Ничего не поделаешь!” - остается только ждать, каким будет сюрприз.

Сегодня мы поговорим о хождении в прямом и переносном смысле. Для этого в латышском есть слова iet, nākt, staigāt, pastaigāties. Разница состоит в их употреблении.

- О, помню, как мой друг в детстве иногда говорил ‘es eju ar kājām’, все никак не мог привынуть к тому, что ездят на чем-то, а идут ногами – ‘iet kājām’.
- Да, бывает. Итак, речь пойдет о движении.
- ‘Runa ies par kustību’.
- Только ‘runa būs par kustību’. Кроме людей мы можем сказать: ‘Iet laiks, pulkstenis, ledus, transports’.
- Кстати, я хотела уточнить – если об учащихся детях говорят ‘Bērns iet bērnudārzā, bērns iet skolā’, правильно ли говорить: ‘Bērns iet koledžā’?
- Нет, тут более подходящими глаголами будут ‘ mācīties’,‘studēt’, ведь молодой человек уже студент и сам решил что-то изучать.
- Верно. А как сказать ‘Заходите’? ‘Nākat iekšā?’
- ‘Nāciet iekšā!’ - в этом случае используем повелительное наклонение, ведь еще никто внутрь не заходит. Кстати, а вы знаете, что люди имеют ввиду, когда рассказывают, что некто ‘sagāja sviestā’?
- Догадываюсь, что с ним что-то приключилось что-то нехорошее.
- Viņš sajuka prātā – он сошел с ума, поехал крышей. ‘Saiet sviestā’ – также испортиться, не получиться, sabojāties, neizdoties.
- Lai diena izdodas, nevis saiet sviestā! - пусть наш день удастся!
