Fruitful - AI-powered decision making for modern farms
In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Patrick Albrecht, CEO and co-founder of Zurich based agriculture tech startup Fruitful (www.fruitful.ag). Using machine learning, the company allows farms to monitor and optimize their growth environment. Fruitful already improved the growth time of leafy greens with a vertical farm by 15%.

Antegenes - transforming cancer prevention with innovative genetic tests
In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Dr Peeter Padrik, CEO and founder of Estonian healthcare startup Antegenes. Antegenes has developed innovative genetic tests for cancer prevention, based on polygenic risk score technology. The company has done over 16,000 tests in Estonia and in the UK and is now expanding into new markets such as Germany. Antegenes also started projects to enter public cancer screening in several European countries. The company is currently aiming for a series A financing.

NeoCarbon - reversing climate change with direct air capture
In this sixth episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing René Haas, CEO and founder of Berlin based NeoCarbon. NeoCarbon's mission is to reverse climate change by doing direct air capture using cooling towers. The company currently wants to test its latest product iteration in the vertical farming and carbonated drinks industries. The company also developed a partnership with Siemens Energy where it wants to combine its technology with Siemens' 3D printed heat exchange technology.

Sanome - building a human digital twin to detect the earliest signs of disease
In this fifth episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Benedikt von Thüngen, CEO and founder of London based Sanome. Benedikt previously founded a couple of other startups amongst which Speechmatics. Sanome is building a human digital twin and uses AI to build combination biomarker diagnostics to detect the earliest signs of disease. Sanome already proved that its model could reduce by two thirds the number of required patients in a clinical trial. The company also recently signed a partnership with a UK care home provider to identify an early warning system.

Opply - the ordering platform for raw food products
In this fourth episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Helen Murphy, CEO and cofounder of Opply. The company is a B2B supply chain platform for raw ingredients and automates sourcing, ordering and shipping for consumer brands. Opply is on track to transact 20 million USD worth of raw ingredients in 2022 only one year after inception. They just raised one of the biggest seed round in London.

In this third episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing Amelie Quilichini, CEO and cofounder of Kolibri Lab. Amélie founded Kolibri Lab while being at Entrepreneur First, a deeptech accelerator and investor. Prior to that she worked as a strategy consultant for 5 years. Kolibri Lab unlocks patient access to cell and gene therapies by reducing production costs up to 50 times and increasing yield up to 100 times. It was also interesting to discuss their current fundraising process. Amélie is in the process of raising 5 million euros.

I had the pleasure of welcoming Victor Borsche, founder and CEO of Theo. The company is developing a semiautonomous delivery robot that moves on bike lanes. They recently signed a pilot project with a public entity in Hamburg to deliver mail. They are looking for new partners where they can run pilot projects, business angels on the financing side and are looking to hire robotics and mechatronics engineers.

Today I had the pleasure of welcoming Manuel Opitz, founder of Deepeye. His vision is to prevent blindness with AI. Deepeye empowers eye doctors to optimize treatments against eye diseases that can lead to blindness. It was a very interesting conversation around a highly impactful and mission driven application of machine learning. He is currently in the process of raising a € 2.5 M seed round and is looking for a lead investor.
