National Donor Day: Save Lives by Registering as an Organ Donor On National Donor Day, we honor the selfless individuals who donate organs and tissues, saving and healing lives. In 2025, 467 Hoosiers became donors, providing 1,379 organs that saved 1,214 lives. Since 2016, Indiana has celebrated 19,655 donors, impacting families across all 50 states and 2,331 U.S. cities. Currently, over 1,400 Indiana residents await transplants, part of a national list of over 105,000 Americans. In 2025, 48,000 transplants occurred nationwide, but 17 people still die daily waiting, with someone joining the list every 8 minutes.
