Hij verzamelde tienduizenden prenten om een beeld te schetsen van de ‘vaderlandse’ geschiedenis. Zo’n verzameling noem je een atlas, een collectie afbeeldingen, zoals een museum een verzameling objecten heeft en een bibliotheek een heleboel boeken. Die Atlas van Stolk is sinds een aantal jaren ondergebracht bij de openbare bibliotheek van Rotterdam en de verzameling groeit nog steeds.
