各位元瓅理財教室的同學大家好,真高興大家又能來上課,現在平安就是福啊!從本集開始,先跟各位談一些理財與人生如何思考的方向,然後要進行一些基本的財務規劃流程介紹,之後就進入投資的部分。 本集會談到三本書:《財富的幾何學》、《跟錢好好相處》,以及《理財盲點》。先從比較簡單的第三本書談起,《理財盲點:有錢人不會做的13件理財決定》,作者是吉兒.施萊辛格(Jill Schlesinger)女士,台灣由新樂園出版社於2020年5月出版。吉兒.施萊辛格女士是認證理財規劃師,定期在媒體上發表與理財相關的議題。曾獲艾美獎提名,也曾擔任美國哥倫比亞廣播公司新聞網(CBS News)的商業分析師。 本書的副標是有錢人不會做的13件事,但內容比較偏重於美國的國情,我比較感興趣的反而是附錄中提到的《聰明人該做的13件事》,我也放在文檔的附錄一中,給大家參考,限於時間,內容我就不深入了。 本節目的主力比較放在《財富的幾何學》。與坊間的理財書較為不同的是,作者是一位行為經濟學的大師,從前面的節目中,我們陸續提到的如康納曼的快思慢想等書中,大家應該己經逐漸對此更有概念。目前經濟學的各派領域都已經納入了人的心理與情緒,對於經濟思考與決策的影響。各位同學也可以回想上集內容,即使是看起來應該是硬數據的統計,卻也能在人類心理的操控下,做出差異性很大的解讀,就知道我們必須面對自己的人性和情緒,才可能改善自己的決策品質。 但其實大家也不必緊張,情緒可以當作是我們在第一集中提到的三觀:世界觀/價值觀/人生觀一個很好的守門員,它對我們是有非常珍貴的意義,並不是應該摒除的噪音或雜訊,我們可以改善思考流程,並留心情緒的提醒,做出更能讓我們安適的決策,這才是重點。 所以我會先引入上述提到的兩本書,畢竟,財務決策是要讓我們幸福,並不是單純的財富遊戲只講輸贏,數學精算固然必要,但也要能配合我們的性格與價值選擇的財務規劃,才能長保我們的身心安樂。 《財富幾何學》的副標挺長的,全名是:《行為金融大師教你排除大腦中的貧窮因子,正確錨定金錢與幸福的關係,讓投資與財務規劃100%發揮》。作者是布萊恩.波提諾(Brian Portnoy),台灣由大牌出版社於2019年06月出版。 布萊恩取得芝加哥大學博士與密西根大學學士學位,並擁有特許金融分析師執照。目前為福特斯投資管理公司(Virtus Investment Partners)投資教育部門總監,該公司市值近1,000億美元,主要服務項目為投資諮詢。過去二十年來,布萊恩同時操作共同基金與避險基金,包括晨星(Morningstar)與梅斯洛金融公司(Mesirow Financial)。他所講授的投資策略與決策講座遍佈全球,其中包括美國證券交易委員會的知名作者系列座談。 由作者的書名和學經歷可以看出,他在投資學有豐富且深入的實務經驗,同時也擅長講授理財投資的心法。行為經濟學是經濟學界演進到現在,逐漸納入對於人類心理學的觀察和理解,改變了對於人類經濟行為和決策的許多思考模型。 本書內容相當豐富,圖書館也已收納,請大家多利用並閱讀全文,可以藉此來思考自己的人生選擇到底是什麼?說到底,財務規劃是實現人生理想的工具,應該配合自己的人生計畫,而不是反過來被主導,那可能只有在極度匱乏的狀態下不得不被發生(第一二集的節目中提到的匱乏經濟學可以重溫一下),所以這樣的窘境能避免我們就先避免吧。 作者開章明義就提出,我們該如何克服投資者的行為落差,在正確的金融遊戲中勝出呢?一個流程三個步驟: 一.確認目的:釐清構成所謂「美好生活」的要件 二.設立優先順序:以明確的步驟依序完成目標。 三.決策:以最簡單的策略,得到最好的效果。 為何叫做《財富的幾何學》?作者別出心裁地提出了三個幾何圖形:圓形/三角/正方形。可以用來描述各種可能的面向。例如目的主要由圓形來代表,而三角形則不但與決定次序有關,也和決策有關。而決策不但可用三角形來理解由下往上築實的理財步驟,也能用正方形的四個角來代表策略的四個要素。 我先挑其中的三角形來當個例子,第一個三角形牽涉前面提到的「決定優先次序」,作者提出了脫貧致富的三大基礎策略。三角形的底是保護,先思考風險,就像吃藥,有沒有療效再說,但至少吃了以後先要沒有更大的傷害才行,所以要先管理人生的風險,避開可能的災損。再來到中層,開始思考「比對」,讓收支平衡,至少讓現有的生活可以持續。第三層是「達陣」,計畫去獲得更多資源,保障未來的生活。 第二個三角形牽涉到「做出明確決定」,用來打造投資組合的三把金鑰。第一把金鑰是安排自身的行為,因為控制自己比打敗他人更重要。第二把金鑰是安排投資組合:資產配置的不敗心法。第三把金鑰,也就是金字塔的頂尖,就是個別的投資項目,作者希望讀者能理解,其實最好的標的並不存在。這三把金鑰要配合正方形的策略,才能發揮它們的最大功效。 而正方形的策略有四個角,就有四個面向,一成長,二痛苦,三合適,四彈性。痛苦是什麼?的是我們為了達成利益增長而必須面對資產價格波動時,我們情緒會因而煎熬的狀況。我們的因應就是三和四,合適代表分散+最適化投資組合,彈性則是並且不斷進行檢討,也要小心讓投資組合具備相當的流動性,好應付必須修正組合的情況。至於這個彈性的權重如何,要看投資人具有多少時間,性格偏好,專業性與可操作時間,以及身份稅率等的考量,再作權衡。 以後談投資時會就投資組合的部分再深入部析,但這邊提到有關資產配置的重點值得再三向各位同學提醒。實務上最主要的投資類別是股票/債券/現金。如何選擇當時環境正確,而且適合自己人生週期的投資組合,遠比任何單一投資標的選擇來得重要。相關的研究與分析在我們後面談投資時會再深入了解,這裏同學們請先記得,好的資產配置是投資成不成功的重要關鍵。 好,到目前為止,各位應該可以看出,本書的作者從一開始就引入了人性和情緒,以及每個人不同的稟賦。所以從決定自己的目的開始,我們就必須負起責任,了解我們有多少能力,也要明白:一切的財務後果都由我們自負,所以在過程中不論錯誤是如何發生的,推諉給除了自身以外的任何因素,其實意義都不大,因為倒楣的就只有我們,任何藉口都無法給予我們財務上的實質補償,所以面對挑戰不斷修正,才是我們從頭到尾必須堅持的態度。 在本書的第二章中,作者很乾脆地利用社會學的常識,因為到目前的研究發現,似乎人們的幸福感受,50%來自於自己的性格,10%來自於外在的條件(即貧窮或富裕),40%來自於我們的控制(意圖),即我們如何規劃人生而來。本書作者想影響的就是這40%。而他提出的大原則方向,就是:要讓你的財務規劃保持「簡單」與「彈性」。簡單是對應我們的人性,或說是惰性,不簡單無法持久。彈性是因應環境的多變,彈性夠才好應付變化與衝擊。 在思考人生目的時,作者提出了與喜悅生活相關的四個要素,提供讀者進行深入思考:連結/控制/競爭力/社會關聯。連結代表有所歸屬需求,控制代表有能力主導自己的命運,競爭力代表有在某一領域的傑出表現,社會關聯代表自我以外的意義需求,可以說是上述三個要素圓圈的母集合,與前三者互相交融。如果在財務規劃時能切實從這四個要素一起考量,相信大家就不會顧此失彼,因為過分的節省或揮霍,失去了一些更重要的東西,例如社交,成就感與安全感。 作者在如何聰明花錢上也有很簡單但深刻的提示,三個面向=體驗/他人/時間。生活體驗可以比物質帶來更多幸福的感受,所以利用財富去營造豐富的物質環境,也別忘了用巧思去創造新奇有趣,甚至帶有豐富感情交流的體驗,才是最關鍵的幸福密碼。他人在這裏顯出了必要性,因為人天生的社會性,使得他人的行為或認同與否,也會影響到我們的情緒和感受,而有餘裕的時間可以我們更好地去經營前兩者,所以適當地以金錢換取時間,若能讓我們更好地安排生活的話,就很划算。 這一點在第二本書的《跟錢好好相處》中,在執行財務(想要)獨立的九大步驟中有不少提醒和小故事,各位同學可以參考看看,希望剛進入職場或想像自己以後能賺錢而興奮的同學們,先冷靜地看看前輩們的慘痛經驗,合理地平衡自己的消費與幸福生活,相信能讓大家少走很多彎路,也不會不小心因一時衝動一下子因為太高的槓桿把自己的財務安全給爆掉了,這樣就划不來了。 《跟錢好好相處:幸福的關鍵,是找到金錢與人生的平衡點》,作者是薇琪(Vicki Robin).魯賓, 和喬.杜明桂(Joe Dominguez),台灣由商業周刊於2018年9月出版,但它其實是本老書了,初版大約在1995年,其中一位作者喬杜明桂先生早在1997年已過世,這本是出版25年後,由薇琪再度修訂後再版的。 兩位作者薇琪.魯賓(Vicki Robin)女士曾獲得美國西北永續生活獎,並曾受邀上《歐普拉秀》、《早安美國》等節目。《時人雜誌》、《紐約時報》、《華爾街日報》等媒體更稱她為消費減量先驅。 喬.杜明桂(Joe Dominguez,1938-1997)先生是華爾街金融分析師,本書所述的財務獨立步驟、記錄「每月結算表」方法就是他的發明,他也具體落實在自身,31歲就退休。 雖然是本老書,但其宗旨仍與我們剛才提到的財富幾何學很接近,不過各位看到這兩位作者是比較接地氣的民間顧問,所以會提出一些比較務實的生活性建議,各位看完財富幾何學中的一些理論之後,不妨來
