project: books, communication, and my lived experiences
crazy to be posting after three years of no content, but all in the name of extra credit, right? in this extra credit project, I decided to do three blog posts and a final podcast on communication. I discussed three books I found most helpful and influential being in my college years.

39. the Oxford Shooting & the way people process
Hello friends :) it's been a while since I hopped on and had a chat, but I think this topic is one of them where I simply can't filter too much and will be 100 percent genuine. Recently, just about 30 minutes outside of my hometown, there was a shooting at Oxford High School in Oxford, Michigan. It has now been about two weeks later, and this will be my sit-down version of how I processed all the happenings these past two weeks. I'll go over my own reactions, my school district and teachers' ways of getting us to both cope and...

38. Where the Crawdads Sing book review & theme of deep emotional ties
TW: mention of abuse. Mini book review!! Honestly, this was really fun and the book was such a good read, but it really does get you thinking about the kind of relationships you may have with others, both on a physical and emotional level. Where the Crawdads Sing was probably one of the better written newer novels I've been able to read, and it was a good thing I actually enjoyed it considering I had to write a whole essay on it as well. Hopefully this podcast is also nice for my outside-of-APs listeners. enjoy :)

36. Start of senior year recap and my senior bucket list!!
Starting senior year has been strange to say the least - I really did not miss getting pushed and shoved in the hallways. Nonetheless, it is really amazing being back in-seat and in school again, and I think the best way to share this experience is letting you in on how it's gone these past few weeks and where my life has been going lately. This includes sharing my senior bucket list, which has a giant mix of things I hope to do before going off to college and even before the 2021 year ends. Hope you all enjoy this...

Big recap on random bits and pieces of life which I'm not entirely sure on what I've covered and what I haven't. It's difficult to be someone who is constantly treated as an outsider in their own country - and yes, America is our country. We grew up here, and although we root ourselves in our Asian ethnic backgrounds, we also want to say that we are also American through and through regardless the color of our skin. In this episode, we talk about the Atlanta spa shooting, how this hate crime stems much deeper than a "bad day," and why it is so important to us. Lately with all the school talk and college thoughts lingering around, I'm sure the juniors and all students feel a little pressure.
