The first step is when one is standing against himself, hurting his own life, his own body, his own mind, his own emotions, all the time and that state is known as Shudra the small one. Shri Krishna tells him the Shudra Roop aur Shudra swabhav. The second phase of the development is the phase when a person is self centered. He is not hurting himself but he is just focusing on himself. He is hurting people around and doing everything for his own sake, for his own benefit. Bhagwan Shri Krishna says him the Vaishya Roop aur Vaishya swabhav. The third stage of development is one person Mature enough to understand that my family is more important than me, my societies more important than me, and my life is to protect my family, my people, my ideas.  so the person moves from I to my. Bhagwan Shri Krishna says him the Kshatriya Roop aur Kshatriya swabhav. The full stage of human development is the fully mature state when a person understands that life is interdependent. We all are connected.
