今天的經文，是耶穌登山寶訓裡教導的其中一部份就是關於憂慮。主耶穌提醒他的門徒，與其忙著擔心各種問題的來臨，而尋神的國和享受祂的統治對信徒來說是更好的。因為上帝知道祂子民的需要，在最適當的時間賜給他們。在主的治理下，祂子民的生命得到保守，並且充滿平安因為上帝看每一位愛祂的人是寶貴的，並永遠看顧他們。
