Walk 015: Evening Stroll
A short evening stroll. We are still trying to get into the rhythm of the new school year and a brief lightning storm got in the way of getting out this morning.

Walk 014: Foggy Monday
The Friday walk didn't happen for reasons, so this morning I rambled about back to school time as well as my recent and planned media consumption. Jurassic World: Dominion (Extended Edition) - worth a watch, but not exactly a repeated watch. She-Hulk: Attorney at Law - This show is off to an excellent start, can't wait to see where it goes.

Walk 013: Midweek Musing
Had some time to kill while waiting for the middle girl's HS to open up for back to school check-in. So I took a walk in the neighborhood to take advantage of the cool morning air out in the country.

Walk 012: New Year, New Season?
Once again after a long absence I'm back and going to give this a go again. I rambled mostly about various media I've watched in the last few months. Due to it being a while since I've done this there are some technical issues (including a break about 2/3 in due to my turn around alarm going off), I think I'm clearly audible over the background noise of the road most of the time.

Walk 010: Back to it. Rambling all the way.
Monday October 4th, 2021 :: 7:04am :: 50f and sunny After almost a year of not doing a talk with my walk (tried a few times but...), I'm going to attempt to get back to it. Over the past year a lot of things have changed, I touch on a few of them as I traveled. Recomendations for today: The Wizzard's Buttler by Nathan Lowell Salt by EJ Lowell and Nathan Lowell (I haven't read this one yet but based on word of mouth I think its work a read) F...

Walk 006: Sunday Superhero Stroll
Today I walked as part of the virtual walk for the Superhero Heart Run. Normally I would be at Racoon River Park jogging in the 5k during the fundraiser. However, with COVID and the extra concerns for the health of that those we would be there to support the organization decided to have everyone do it virtually. This was a good decision for all, as much fun as the run is it just wouldn't be safe. https://www.superheroheartrun.com/

Walk 005: COVID Concerns Crankiness
Wherein I vent for far too long on how I think things are going, be aware this is pretty much my just venting on the state of the world and Iowa in particular. So you probably don't really need to listen to me shouting into the void. Only really one thing directly referenced today and that is the excellent number crunching being done over at https://iowacovid19tracker.org/ where they are trying to keep some accountability and visibility to the numbers coming out from the state as they keep "adjusting" things (as well as using bad...

As part of my place of business' latest 30-Day Wellness Challenge I've decided to follow in the virtual footsteps of Nathan Lowell and Dave Robison in doing a riff on "Morning Pages" during my daily walks. Book Memories 06 | Sally Preston
Book Memories guest blog post # 6 by Sally Preston Download the .mp3 BOOK MEMORIES # 6 WARNING: This post contains high degrees of saccharine and dairy. I.E. it's pretty overly sweet and more than a little cheesy. First let me start with a shout out and thanks to Dan for including me as an occasional writer for posts. It's fun to share, put my own spin on things and since for the most part when I express myself I'm singing or playing an instrument writing is a nice change of pace! Now on to m...

Movie Memories 09 | Laith Preston
Movie Memories guest blog post # 9 by Laith Preston brought to you by www.DanDanTheArtMan.com Download the .mp3 Movies, there are just so many stories I could come up with about movies that I'm not really sure where to begin. When I think about movies, like most everyone I recall the smell of the popcorn and the quiet in the theater as the previews began, the excitement building as the hero wins through against seemingly impossible odds. However, one of my earliest memories of watching a movie is actually not seeing it on the big screen...

TV Memories 13 | Laith Preston
TV Memories # 13by Laith Preston When Dan approached me to do another guest post for him, this time on the topic of my TV memories, my first thought was that this would be an easy one to pull together. However, just like the previous post, more and more memories arose as I thought about it. Some of my earliest TV Memories revolve around, surprise, surprise, a children’s show - Mr Roger’s Neighborhood. I can recall the wonder as the trolley dinged along its track, taking us to the Neighborhood of Make-Believe. I grew up in Kansas City...

Videogame Memories 13 | Laith Preston
Videogame Memories # 12 GUEST BLOG POST by Laith Preston Thinking back I have a hard time placing what the first video game I played. Computer games of one form or another have been a part of my life for so long that it is hard to pick out when we first met. While considering this many happy memories float to the surface of my mind. I remember many hours spent with my Mom waiting at the Kansas City airport for Dad’s flight to arrive, as I mastered the intricacies of a little hopping guy and a s...
