Rohter served as the Rio de Janeiro bureau chief for the New York Times from 1998 to 2008, and he held the same role at Newsweek from 1977 to 1982. He divides his time between the United States and Brazil. Larry Rohter was interviewed by fellow biographer and BIO member Kevin McGruder.
