故事從一隻小豬爬進了一個小女孩的家，小女孩給了小豬一片鬆餅開始說起。小豬拿到了鬆餅，還想要配楓糖漿。小女孩給了她糖漿，小豬吃的黏搭搭的，要求在他們家洗澡。洗完澡又有別的要求，一件接著一件，大鬧小女孩的家。小女孩耐心的陪著小豬完成一件又一件的事，最後小豬又讓想到了鬆餅，要求搭配楓糖漿。
作者帶著孩子用想像力，大玩故事接龍的遊戲，出了一系列的循環故事（circular tale），受到很多小讀者的喜愛。這個系列的第一本書 《If You Give A Mouse A Cookie》自1985年出版以來，受歡迎的程度歷久不衰。也許爸爸媽媽可以試試看，用這樣有趣的寫作和說故事方式，帶著孩子玩想像力，創作出屬於你們自己的循環故事！
