Kiewitt began her musical training on the clarinet at age 10. Shannon attended Indiana University in Bloomington, earning a bachelor’s degree in music performance in 1999 and a master’s in music performance in 2001. Her instructors include Howard Klug and Alfred Prinz of Indiana University.
