John Mike Conley, a revered principal of Leon High School, passed away at 89. He led the school for 17 years, retiring in 1989, and later served on the school board. A school in his honor opened in 2008. Colleagues remember him as a dedicated, humble leader. Born in West Virginia, he excelled in track and history teaching. Conley leaves behind his wife, three children, six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. A celebration of life is set for March 20, 2026, at Pisgah Methodist Church.
