Generation MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 45 - U2We're back!  It's been a long old wait - but for the best of reasons.  Joel has been taking his GCSEs.  That's all over now and what better way to celebrate than to listen to a somewhat polarising band - U2. Together as a band for over 45 years with no line changes or departures ever - U2 can lay claim to the Pride of being the most stable band in rock history. This is a trawl through their career up to the controversial Songs Of Innocence and that particular i-Tunes shaped can of worms does get...2024-07-2648 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 44 - Genesis and SoloIn this episode Joel and Neil listen to the music of Genesis and solo tracks from Phil Collins, Mike and the Mechanics and Peter Gabriel. Genesis aren't exactly a favourite of Neil - the greatest hits are OK and maybe an album or two.  Peter Gabriel, however... Joel gets his usual revenge and it's.... fine! There are tracks from her entire career and, in Dad's opinion, something of a mixed bag. Dad get's his turn to do a revenge and picks a track from his favourite album of 2023. Where else would Mozart, Beethoven, Elgar, Joplin and John Finnemore(?) rub shoulders but in a podcast such as this. Joel has a revenge and it's totally in keeping with the whole podcast.  Joel's Music GCSE really starts to show his musical understanding and he probably knows more than Dad now! One thing mentioned in the podcast is this - go watch it - it's brilliant.  If yo...2024-01-2547 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 42 - ColdplaySeason 3 continues with an episode on Coldplay.  This was... tricky.  Neither Neil nor Joel enjoyed the music of Coldplay, so how did the CD come about?  Well, they are a hugely successful band of the last 20 years and a friend made a suggested playlist, Neil made the CD and... well this was the result. Listening back was something of a trial but not without the occasional up moment - Joel's revenge is pretty good! Anyway - if you love Coldplay probably best skip this one - there may be a few minor expletives too.  But, if y...2023-12-1043 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 41 - AviciiSeason 3 already (and only a month after the conclusion of season 2) and we turn our attention to the dance music artist Avicii. Avicii's real name was Tim Bergling and he was a Swedish musician and DJ.  His songs involved vocal contributions from a wide range of artists from pop, rock and country. As you may know his story ends tragically in 2018 after 2 albums, a string of hits and a battle with depression. His music lives on, and whilst Neil is no fan of dance music there's something about this fellow that goes way beyond that g...2023-11-2357 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 40 - Dire StraitsIn this much delayed episode we turn our attention to the music of Dire Straits.  It's a been a loooooooooong time coming and indeed we had recorded this much earlier but the sound was rubbish.  We are so committed to quality listening here on Generation Mix that we didn't want to put out something that was hard to listen to due to the audio quality.   A trawl through all 6 studio albums, taking in a live track and a little extra bonus non-straits piece (which they played at all their gigs after it's release anyway). Joel has...2023-10-2243 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 39 - The SmithsWell it was bound to happen one day - we broke the hour barrier.  Admittedly we have 25 different songs included in this episode (if you include the revenge) so there is a fair bit. As we trawl our way through The Smiths we end up referencing a certain CBBC television show several times - honestly if you've never seen it click the link and thank us later! Horrible Histories Charles Dickens Song - YouTube Joel's revenge is actually pretty good and his enthusiasm for the podcast may be returning thanks to recent design w...2023-07-151h 00Generation MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 38 - Iron MaidenOK - it took longer than planned and we couldn't pull off the guest but we turn our attention to the greatest Heavy Metal band in the world - Iron Maiden. They've been going over 45 years since their formation in 1975, hitting the big time in 1980 and with a hiccup or two, are still going very strong now (latest album Senjustsu is not represented in this podcast as the CD compilation was made well before its release). There is vocalist discussion, bass discussion, Alfred Lord Tennyson makes a cameo along with a Samuel Taylor Coleridge namecheck...2023-05-1450 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 37 - Suzanne VegaWhat's this?  A new Generation Mix episode just 2 weeks after the last one?  We really are spoiling you. In this episode it's New York singer/songwriter Suzanne Vega under the spotlight.  Tracks drawn from her entire 30+ year career from Marlene On The Wall through to Harper Lee. It's a great trawl through some excellent songcraft. Joel's revenge is extremely appropriate for this one. Join us soon for the next one, which sees a returning guest. My YouTube channel: Pockenrop  2023-03-1943 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 36 - George HarrisonA new episode of our podcast with a shorter interval than of late (just 6 weeks or so) and it's a solo Beatle episode with our focus on the Quiet Beatle - George Harrison. George's solo career really kicked off with All Things Must Pass and after a few lengthy hiatuses ended with the posthumous Brainwashed.  We have picks from across his entire 30 year solo career, taking in possibly the greatest ever supergroup,  and even a sneaky little Beatles inclusion of a song that was unreleased until his solo self titled record - I just prefer the Beatle ve...2023-02-2656 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 35 - Paul Simon & Simon & GarfunkelWow.  Another unfeasibly long gap between episodes.  Sorry about that.  On the other hand - this is our longest episode yet as our conversation is increasingly that - a conversation rather than Neil banging on too much.  Joel has some slightly deeper insights and Neil really goes off on a diatribe about modern music and his perception of the lazy writing. Meanwhile, the music of Paul Simon is our focus - both solo and with Art Garfunkel.   The revenge is a Grande one (you'll get the joke later). My YouTube channel: Pockenrop  2023-01-1158 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 34 - Eric ClaptonWow - it's been 3 months of inactivity.  Joel wasn't looking forward to recording this, but a bonus from the delay has been an increasing ability to analyse and understand music so he really digs in on this episode. 18 tracks drawn from Clapton's entire career from Cream to the solo years. We also have a sponsor - sort of... Also, this is an episode that might be of limited interest as it's on someone who, frankly, many of you may not be aware - the worship leader and songwriter Brian Doerksen.   He's been a huge influence on Neil over the last 30 years. Sit back, listen with an open mind and who knows. Finally, Joel's revenges are getting quite mild lately.  Perh...2022-07-2442 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 32 - The Pet Shop BoysIn this episode, Neil and Joel enjoy, and that really is the right word, the music of seminal 80's electronic pop duo - The Pet Shop Boys. So much good music from their entire career up to the point the CD was made and as a result, Joel does a revenge that is really not a revenge at all.   My YouTube channel: Pockenrop  Joel's YouTube Channel: FoxEatingNuggetsGaming 2022-06-0535 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 31 - The Beatles Vol IIIt's our first repeated artist and it can only be the greatest band that ever there was - The Beatles.   Neil had always intended a Vol II for this artist right back at the very start of the "Daddy's Introduction To..." series and so a few wonderful gems were purposefully held back for this volume. So Don't Pass Us By, join us for a Savoy Truflly with a Walrus and Long Tall Sally. Joel's revenge is not commensurate with how much he actually enjoyed the CD which I don't think is really that fa...2022-05-0843 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 30 - Chris ReaEpisode 30 take a trip on the Road to Hell to the music of Middlesboro's finest son - Chris Rea. It's safe to say that Joel's enthusiasm levels for this one are low, at least until the last few tracks. His revenge is...OK.  I wonder if anyone else hears the same similarities in the singer's voice to that of Gerard Way.  Let us know over on the Generation Mix and Pockenrop Facebook page. Meanwhile, Joel has joined me on my youtube channel on a fortnightly basis to discuss our top 100 songs.  There are sev...2022-04-1034 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 29 - Take ThatFor episode 29 it's the BoyBand-turned-ManBand, Take That. It's safe to say that Neil was most assuredly NOT a Take That admirer in the 90's.  But, their great comeback kinda won him over.  Great songs and top notch arrangements mean that the second coming of Take That was far more enjoyable that their first.   This is predominantly focussed on the return era, with a couple of the all time early greats mixed in. Joel get's his revenge and it's not too bad if I'm honest.  I liked the song he picked more on second heari...2022-03-2038 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 28 - Green DayEpisode 28 is a really fun dive into the world of the pop-punk trio Green Day.  The band consists of Billie-Joe Armstrong on guitar and vocals, Mike Dirnt on bass and Tre Cool on drums.   More than any other DIT, this one has won Joel over and the band has ascended into one of his favourites, if not his actual favourite band. Tracks are drawn from Dookie through to Revolution Radio and it was a fun listen and review throughout.   As a result, there is a fairly nice Joel's Revenge - or is it? 2022-02-2738 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 27 - Third DayThis episode is a dive into the music of a Christian rock band by the name of Third Day.  But wait, don't skip it - they're really good!  Covering their entire 20+ year recording career, this compilation was one of the most enjoyable for Dad to listen back to.  Joel is non-committal to begin with but then gradually warms to the tracks with a few real highlights along the way.  He also get's embarrassed but you'll have to listen to the end to find out why - it's a Dad/Son thing! Joel's revenge - after the last one...2022-02-0340 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 26 - SladeAh - Slade!  Not just for Christmas - and in this episode not for Christmas at all.  This is the longest episode we've yet put out.  This is probably because Neil considers Slade one of the most under-rated bands.  Slade hit the number one spot 6 times in the first half of the 70s yet they don't seem to be as celebrated as other 70s hitmakers. These 20 tracks - all written by Holder and Lea are from across their 20+ year career, taking in major hits, minor hits, albums cuts and the occasional obscure b-side. Joel has a re...2022-01-0948 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Bonus Episode 5 (season 2) - Adele 30Our first bonus episode of Season 2 sees us grasp the nettle of the zeitgeist and get current.  This is Joel's first listen (3rd for Neil) of the brand new Adele album, 30. Joel, as you might know loves its three predecessors (check out the Back To Black bonus episode for his thoughts on 19) and was hotly anticipating this.  Join us for his first reactions. As the first single, Adele asks us to "go easy on me".  Find out if we did. If you enjoy Generation Mix then please tell someone about it.  And if you...2021-12-1327 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 25 - Bucks FizzThis is an episode VERY close to Neil's heart.  Bucks Fizz was his favourite band from the age of 7 onwards.  Famously formed to win the 1981 Eurovision song contest with Making Your Mind Up.  It's time to find out what Joel thought of this particular CD. Tracks are drawn from the 5 studio albums with a liberal smattering of the many singles released up to 1989, including a couple of their 3 number ones. Next episode is a bonus - we are aiming to listen to the brand new Adele 30 album. My YouTube channel: Pockenrop  Joel...2021-11-2839 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 24 - Elvis CostelloIn our latest podcast episode, we turn to the music of Declan MacManus, better known as Elvis Costello.  This is both with and without the Attractions, his phenomenal backing band from the late 70s through to the mid 90s (with a sizeable gap in between).  There are co-writes with an ex-Beatle, but the majority is all individually penned stuff from one of the UKs greatest lyricists. Does Joel enjoy it?  Well the presence of a Joel's revenge towards the end might act as a clue. Do come back in a fortnight for our next episode - a...2021-11-0741 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 23 - A-HaEpisode 23 and we enjoy Norway's greatest export, the threepiece pop band A-Ha. We'll be Hunting High and Low through their back catalogue from the debut single, Take On Me through to 2015's Cast In Steel album.  On the way, Neil finds out something that excites him a fair bit, the TV show Masked Singer gets mentioned and there is just a smidgen of Bond, James Bond. This episode doesn't have a Joel's Revenge.  You'll have to listen to find out why. Also, apologies for the near 2 week delay in release.  Joel tested positive for...2021-10-1730 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 22 -MuseEpisode 22 sees us dive into the mad, mad Invincible world of Muse. This threepiece band from the Devon town of Teignmouth made it really big in the noughties - and big is the right word.  Huge riffs, driving bass and drums and some outlandish vocals - one might even suggest Hysteria. This was a fun episode to record and the 17 tracks cut across all their albums up to and including Drones from 2015. There is a Joel's revenge to contend with - is it another youtuber?  You know it is. My YouTube channel: Pockenrop  ...2021-09-2237 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 21 - Stevie WonderSeason 2.  At Last - it's here.  We know you've been waiting for this a while.  We are listening to a selection of Motown's greatest ever artist - Stevie Wonder.  A man who has won stackloads of Grammy awards for a string of critically acclaimed albums in the 70s whilst maintaining a significant singles chart presence - no mean feat for anyone, especially someone who has been blind all their life. Joel gives his assessment of the tracks as ever then inflicts a revenge on Dad.   Hope you enjoy this one and we'll be back...2021-09-0637 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Special - Season 1 RetrospectiveAt the end of Book 1 of the CDs I made a sort of Greatest Hits, featuring one track from each of the 20 CDs.  Now that we've reviewed them all, we are revisiting this compilation and asking - is this still your favourite, and if not, what is.   In the spirit of this episode, Neil also reveals his favourite Joel's Revenge.   Enjoy, and we'll see you in August for the start of Season 2! 2021-07-1831 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 20 - Kirsty MacCollIt's the end of season 1!  Episode twenty features the music of Kirsty MacColl.  A great singer and songwriter who struggled to really make the impact that her prodigious talents truly deserved.  One of the few famous people that Neil has actually met.   Joel is relatively non-committal throughout but this is a great trawl through her 20 year career, tragically (and criminally) cut short in the waters off the coast of Mexico.   Joel rounds out the series with a revenge as ever. We will be plugging the gap between now and the start of sea...2021-06-2044 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 19 - Richard ThompsonPhew.  We're finally here at the much trailed Episode 19.  It's safe to say Joel has not been looking forward to this one and it's the music of Richard Thompson - both solo and with his (now-ex) wife Linda.   Knowing this was to be a highly negative episode, Neil has called in back up from fellow podcaster Steve Sumner from the McCartney In Goal podcast.  Does it pay off?  You'll have to listen to find out. Caution - this episode contains one expletive from a 13 year old.   Joel gets a serious revenge in for...2021-06-0648 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 18 - KeaneEpisode 18 of our podcast and we are enjoying the music of the best band to emerge from Battle - Keane.  Literally, they come from Battle in Sussex. It's a great mix of hits and album tracks from their first 4 albums.  Sadly the excellent Cause and Effect hadn't come out when this CD was made.  Perhaps we should visit it as a bonus ep. As ever, Joel's revenge concludes the music and it's.... different! Why is the boy obsessed with YouTubers? Next episode is hinted at with the musical clue, as ever.  It's the long...2021-05-2335 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 17 - QueenDon't stop me now!  We're having a such a good time as we hit episode 17 and the music of Queen.  This is something of hit-fuelled romp with a deep cut or three.   So, even if It's Late, settle down with The Invisible Man. Ignore the Bicycle Race and give us your attention - I Want It All.  Joel has his revenge to exact and given that he's decided the ones he really thinks I'll hate should be saved for the CDs he already dislikes, will this be a goody or a baddy? As ever, don...2021-05-0942 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 16 - Paul McCartneyWe are back on track with our regular episodes and have reached Neil's favourite artist of all time - Paul McCartney. This is a slightly longer episode that normal as Neil has a lot (some might say too much) to say.  It's 44 minutes and 44 seconds long, and given that McCartney was one of the Fab 4 that's quite pleasing really! This is a trawl through nearly 50 years of solo material - but no Wings as that will one day be dealt with separately. Joel is his normal self - mixing some non-committal responses with a...2021-04-2544 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Bonus Episode 3 - Amy Winehouse Back To BlackWelcome to out third bonus episode.  In these episodes we break our usual format and listen through an entire album. This time it's Back To Black from Amy Winehouse under the microscope.  Neil loves this album but will Joel?  Let's just say that this episode didn't go as planned.  There is an argument about two female artists. If you enjoy Generation Mix then please tell someone about it.   Neil's Youtube channel is Pockenrop Joel's is FoxEatingNuggetsGaming Also check out the Back To Black episode of McCartney In Goal Podcast here o...2021-04-1120 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 15 - Elton JohnEpisode 15 sees us deep dive into the career of Reginald Dwight - AKA Elton John.   This is a relatively hit free run through his career from the earliest songs through to the last album before he announced his retirement.  Whilst it's a little heavier on his "classic" period it's a varied listen.  There are upbeat tracks and one extremely downbeat one. Joel enacts his revenge as ever with something that's pretty in keeping with the style of the episode. Our next episode will be a bonus whole album listen through.  Head over to Faceb...2021-03-2842 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 14 - SqueezeIn this episode we listen to the worlds finest proponents of 3 minute kitchen sink drama - Squeeze.  Will it be Up The Junction all will it be All's Well?  This episode is being released on Mothering Sunday, 2021 so the song Woman's World feels especially apposite.   Along the way Neil rambles about the time he saw Squeeze live twice in a month in the late 90's and Joel goes off on the weirdest explanation of how he dislikes songs that are played higher up the keyboard with the right hand (?!?).  Honestly - it's really bizarre.  2021-03-1440 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 13 -Movie SongsHey folks. Episode 13 sees our first thematic Daddy's Introduction To... compilation as we listen to movie songs.  Not just any movie songs though - these are all inextricably linked to their parent film - in most cases because they were written for them.  So - no Unchained Melody (Ghost) or In Dreams (Blue Velvet).  Or indeed all those Beatles covers for I Am Sam. This was a fun romp through many great songs - some oscar winning.  Joel's revenge stays in the same theme too. Recently, Neil completed the formal 60th CD in Joel's collection and...2021-02-2841 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 12 - Paul HeatonI'll be honest - I'd been dreading recording this episode.  Joel has expressed his dislike of this CD several times even urging that we skip and move to the next one.  But, I like rules and this was the 12th in the "Daddy's Introduction To..." series - so tackle it we must. In the end, things may have gone better than we expected! In this episode we are listening to tracks from Paul Heaton's 35 year career as a vocalist and songwriter with the Housemartins, the Beautiful South and latterly as a duo with Jacqui Abbott....2021-02-1442 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 11 - AbbaAfter our last bonus episode, we find ourselves on much more familiar ground with the Swedish pop sensations Abba.  There are tales of love and divorce - and that's just the band's personal history!  A sprinkling of their major UK hits amongst some minor chart entries and deep cut album tracks make this CD, for Neil anyway, a thoroughly enjoyable one. The Joel's revenge is another you tuber's song. What does Neil think this time.   Neil also refers to his YouTube channel.  You can access that here. Or search for Pockenrop.   2021-01-3140 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Bonus Episode 2 - Alan Walker Different WorldWelcome to our latest bonus episode.  This time, Joel is very much taking the reins and introducing Neil to the album Different World by his favourite artist Alan Walker (see past Joel's Revenge segments). It's a quite fun episode with a few diversions and Neil even manages to bring in a reference to his favourite artist. Effectively, it's an entire episode consisting of Joel's Revenge.  What does Neil think of the album - you'll have to listen to find out.   2021-01-1732 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 10 MadnessInto double figures with the band Madness.  I think it's safe to say that this was hard work.  Joel didn't enjoy the majority of tracks - but is he wrong (yes - yes, he is!) There is a revenge that also doesn't go quite as planned and the announcement of a forthcoming YouTube channel - Pockenrop. So, sit back and enjoy (or endure) Episode 10 of Generation Mix. 2021-01-0342 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Episode 9 Jim SteinmanIt's episode 9 and we can't help but wonder how many of you were blindsided by the clue.  Yes, the clue was a Meat Loaf song, but we are listening to the songwriting talents of Jim Steinman. This episode features songs performed by Bonnie Tyler, Celine Dion, Boyzone(!), a cast of children and, yes, a whole lot of Marvin Lee Aday - AKA Meat Loaf. This is a fun trek through Jim Steinman's career, that kicked off with the Bat Out Of Hell album alongside Meat Loaf and saw him score 3 number one hit singles as a...2020-12-2133 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Ep8 DC TalkThis episode sees Neil and Joel take a plunge into the music of Christian Rock and Rap band - DC Talk.  This may well be an unfamiliar artist to many of you, so sit back and pop the headphones on and discover something new. Joel of course has his revenge to exact. The episode begins very differently to normal, with a short memorial message, before the format you've come to know and, dare we say it, love(?) resumes. Head on over to the facebook page to chat about the episode.   ...2020-12-0640 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Ep7 The KinksEpisode 7 already and we reach The Kinks.  There are some great songs on this podcast and it's one of Neil's favourites. Sitting On My Sofa are Lola, Victoria, Arthur, a Wonderboy and a Well Respected Man. Joel, of course, has a revenge to enact. We are now paying for hosting so please, please, please leave us a good review wherever you get your podcasts and tell people about us.   Our next episode is somewhat obscure, so don't knock yourself out trying to work out who we are listening to in a for...2020-11-2240 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Ep6 Deacon BlueWe welcome a guest this episode - another Neil - who is a Deacon Blue fan.  This means a longer podcast as there are three opinions to contend with! This episode is a real deep dive into the music of the band with few hits under the microscope.  Joel has a revenge as ever for his Dad. The sound quality isn't great as we used Zoom to chat to Neil.  Sorry about that. Find us on Facebook folks and debate the discussion. 2020-11-0847 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Bonus Ep - My Chemical Romance Welcome to The Black ParadeLadies and Gentlemen.  We interrupt our regular programming for a bonus episode.  Joel and Neil listen to Welcome To The Black Parade album by My Chemical Romance.   Joel gets slightly freaked out by a couple of tracks and one of Neil's old work colleagues gets a shout out. Joel requested this entire album play through - but does he like it?  We have a facebook page.  Join us to debate the album and maybe vote on the next bonus ep. 2020-10-2526 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Ep5 The Spice Girls + SoloEpisode 5 sees Joel and Neil consider the hitmaking machine and social phenomenon of the late 90's - The Spice Girls.  Joel originally asked for this so you can bame him. Unlike other CDs in the series, this is an all-singles hit-packed episode.  But is every one a gem?  Find out with us.  Joel of course concludes our podcast with his revenge.  Did Neil like or loathe it?  There's only one way to find out. Join the conversation on facebook. 2020-10-1138 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Ep4 ErasureEpisode 4 finds Neil and Joel listening to a selection of Erasure songs.  There are hits, album tracks and the odd B-Side.  The conversation and opinions flow freely.   We'll be on facebook soon with our own page.   2020-09-2738 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Ep3David BowieWow! Episode 3 of Generation Mix already and we listen to an eclectic selection of David Bowie tracks drawn from his entire career of 6 decades.  In this episode Joel introduces his concept of "neutral" songs, Dad vehemently disagrees with several of Joel's withering assessments of brilliant tracks and there is, of course, a Joel's Revenge towards the end - quite possibly the worst one yet.   Hope you've been enjoying them.  Please rate us nicely on iTunes. 2020-09-0941 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Ep2 Mike OldfieldWelcome to episode 2 of Generation Mix.  Volume 2 in the Daddy's Introduction To... series was the multi-instrumentalist Mike Oldfield.  We listen and comment on 20 tracks drawn from the debut blockbuster "Tubular Bells" through to the then most recent album "Man On The Rocks".  Joel has some particular favourites, there are a few hits & some deeper cuts. We conclude with the regular feature "Joel's Revenge" - Who will he subject Neil to this time. 2020-08-3039 minGeneration MixGeneration MixGeneration Mix Ep1 - The BeatlesThe very first episode of our brand new podcast.  In this podcast a father (Neil) and son (Joel) review a series of CDs the Dad made for his son over the course of nearly 4 years.  Opening the series is the best band in the world (in Dad's opinion) - The Beatles. Towards the end is Joel's revenge - a modern song selected by Joel and subjected upon Dad.
