World Rugby has plans for an annual 12 nations championship, with each team playing each other once a year followed by a play-off series with a final at the end.
Newstalk ZB rugby editor Nigel Yalden says this will include the Six Nations teams from the Northern Hemisphere, the four Rugby Championship teams from the Southern Hemisphere, plus Japan and Fiji.
