Oreet Ashery - death in the now
Oreet Ashery is an Israeli-British artist who works in multiple mediums including film, photography, and performance. Her art often tackles themes of politics, gender, class, social constructs, and the plight of refugees. In Malmö, Sweden she constructed a fascinating sonic scene called Passing through Metal. Forty knitters tap tapped away on their needles while a sludge metal band joined in with their most contrasting of sounds.
