Nachdem die 275 Fallkontrollpaare mittels MALDI-TOF Massenspektroskopie analysiert wurden lagen 247 Fallkontrollen mit vollständigen Datensätzen vor.
Die Verteilung des p53 SNPs zeigte weder in der gepaarten noch in der Analyse der gesamten Daten einen signifikanten Unterschied zwischen der Kontroll- und der Karzinomgruppe. Somit scheint die Variante R72P alleine keinen Einfluß auf das Risiko einer Brustkrebserkrankung zu haben.
