எவ்வித கட்டுப்பாடும் இல்லை எவ்வித கலக்கமும் இல்லை
தன் வட்ட வாழ்க்கையில் தைரியமாய் தான் இருந்ததாம்
தெருவோரம் ஓடிச்சென்ற சிறுவன் ஏனோ வரப்பின் ஓரம் வந்தானாம்
தூரம் இருந்து பலவற்றை ரசித்திருந்தாலும்
தன்னோடு இந்த பட்டாம்பூச்சியை வைத்துக்கொள்ள ஆசை பட்டானாம்
முதல் பார்வையிலேயே அதன் மேல் ஆசை வர
பிடிக்க முயன்று தோற்றே போனானாம்
பின்ன என்ன, தினமும் வரப்புக்கே வந்தவன்
அந்த பட்டாம்பூச்சி எங்கெங்கு பறக்கும்? எந்த பூவின் வாசம் அழைக்கும் என
பொறுத்திருந்தே பார்த்தானாம்
இவன் இருப்பை அறிந்த பட்டாம்பூச்சியும் முதல் சில நாள் யோசித்தாலும்
இவன் தீங்கு செய்யவில்லை என்பதால் தன் வேலையை தொடர்ந்ததாம்
ஆனால் இந்த சிறுவனோ தக்க நேரத்திற்கு காத்திருக்கிறான் என்று அறியாமல்
மெல்ல அவனின் செய்கையில் மயங்கியதாம்
தான் எடுத்த தேனை ஜீரணித்து கொண்டே இவன் வரவையும் அறிந்ததாம் அந்த பட்டாம்பூச்சி

சட்டெனெ அடைத்தானாம்
தான் ஏமாந்ததை உணர நினைக்கும் முன்னமே
அந்த பட்டாம்பூச்சியின் இடம் முதல் அதன் வட்டாரத்தை விட்டு விலக்கி
தனியே எடுத்து சென்றானாம் அந்த சிறுவன்
அதன் அழகில் மயங்கிய சிறுவனும்
தினமும் பத்திரமாக பாதுகாத்தானாம் ஒரு கூண்டுக்குள் வைத்து
பாவம் இவன் மேல் இருந்த நன்மதிப்பால் இவன் முன்னால் மட்டும் சந்தோசமாய்
சிறகடித்ததாம் பட்டாம்பூச்சி
எத்தனை நாள் தான் கூண்டுக்குளையே இருக்க?
மெல்ல வெளிய வர பட்டாம்பூச்சி முற்பட அப்பொழுது தான் தெரிந்ததாம்
அந்த சிறுவனின் மறுபக்கம்
கூண்டில் இருந்த வரை ரசித்த சிறுவன்
