It portrays the gay rights activist Vito Russo, who brought us the “Celluloid Closet” as a book, which was made into a film in 1995. Jeffrey tells us how much Vito shaped the LGBT community from the 1970s until his early death in the 1990s. He experienced Stonewall, the first steps of the gay rights movement, the repressive times of the 1980s and the fight against AIDS.
