వెళ్ళేముందు కళ్యాణి తో " కళ్యాణీ నువ్వు ఇప్పుడు ఈ ఇంటి సభ్యురాలివి. నీకు ఎప్పుడు ఏ అవసరం వచ్చినా నిస్సంకోచంగా మాకు ఫోన్ చేయి. అర్ధరాత్రి అయినా, అపరాత్రి అయినా సందేహించవద్దు.
పది పదిహేను రోజులకోసారి మా ముగ్గురిలో ఎవరో ఒకరు వస్తూపోతూ వుంటాం. పిల్లలికి మోహన్ గురించి అసలు నిజం చెప్పవద్దు. పిల్లలు అడిగితే విదేశాలలో ఉద్యోగం కోసం వెళ్ళాడని, రెండు సంవత్సరాల దాకా రాడని చెప్పు.

కళ్యాణి ని చూడగానే రాజాకు ఆమెతో పరిచయం, స్నేహం అన్నీ ఒక్కసారిగా మదిలో మెదిలాయి.
నాలుగు రోజుల క్రితం ఫోన్ చేసినప్పుడు సంక్రాంతి పండగకు రమ్మని చెప్పాడు. గీతమ్స్ కాలేజీలో ప్రోగ్రామ్ వుందని దాదాపుగా రాకపోవచ్చని చెప్పింది.
కళ్యాణి సంగతులన్నీ యింట్లో అందరికీ చెప్పాడు. సంక్రాంతి కి రమ్మని ఆహ్వానించిన విషయం కూడా చెప్పాడు.
అనుకోకుండా సడన్ గా వచ్చిన ఆమె రాక రాజాకు ఆశ్చర్యాన్ని కలుగచేసింది.

"రాజా, తను వచ్చి చాలా సేపు అయింది. మా పరిచయాలన్నీ ముగిసాయి. పిల్లలు అన్నం తిని తిలక్ రూం లో చేరి కబుర్లు చెప్పుకుంటున్నారు. తను మనతో ఏదో మాట్లాడాలని వచ్చింది. నీకోసమే ఎదురు చూస్తున్నాం" అంది.
రాజా కళ్యాణి ముఖం లోకి చూసాడు.

అప్పటినుండి ఇద్దరిమధ్య అడపాతడపా ఫోన్ సంభాషణలు నడిచేవి. ‘మీరు’ నుండి ‘నువ్వు’ అని పిలుచుకునే చనువు ఏర్పడింది ఇద్దరిమధ్య. వదినకు కళ్యాణి గురించి ఆమె చేస్తున్న సోషల్ సర్వీస్ గురించి చెప్పాడు.
వారింటిలో ఉన్న స్మార్ట్ టీవి లో యుట్యూబ్ లో ఉన్న కళ్యాణి ఉపన్యాసాన్ని ఇంటిల్లిపాదికీ చూపించాడు. అందరూ అంత చిన్న వయసులో ఆమె చేస్తున్న కృషిని కొనియాడారు.
కాలేజీ ప్రాజెక్ట్ వర్క్ మెటీరియల్ కోసం హైదరాబాదు వెళ్ళినప్పుడు కళ్యాణికి ఫోన్ చేసి యూనివర్సిటీకి వెళ్ళి కలిసాడు రాజా.
యూనివర్సిటీ నుంచి ఆ రోజు ఇద్దరూ కలసి బిర్లా మందిర్ కు వెళ్ళారు. దైవదర్శనం తరువాత జనసమ్మర్దం లేని చోట కూర్చున్నారు.
తన గురించి తన కుటుంబం గురించి రాజా కళ్యాణికి చెప్పాడు. కానీ కళ్యాణి తనగురించి ఎపుడూ చెప్పలేదు.
రెండు మూడు సార్లు ఫోన్ లో అడిగినా చెప్పకుండా దాటేసేది.
"కళ్యాణీ, ఎప్పుడడిగినా నీ గురించి ఏమీ చెప్పలేదు. నీ గురించి మా యింట్లో అందరకు తెలుసు. నీ స్పీచెస్ కూడా విన్నారు. ఈ రోజన్నా నీ సంగతులు చెప్పు" అడిగాడు రాజా.

జరిగిన కథ
కాలేజీ లెక్చరర్ గా పని చేస్తుంటాడు రఘుపతి. కాలేజ్ దగ్గర స్పృహ కోల్పోయి పడున్న స్త్రీని చూస్తాడు. ఆ యువతిని, గ్రామంలో తమ ప్రత్యర్థి సీతయ్య బావమరిది శేషగిరితో చూసినట్లు పోలీసులతో చెబుతాడు.
స్పృహ వచ్చిన ఆ యువతి- తన పేరు కమల అనీ, తనని శేషగిరి, అతని స్నేహితులు సామూహిక అత్యాచారం చేశారనీ చెబుతుంది. కమలకు తన ఇంట్లో ఆశ్రయం కల్పిస్తాడు రఘుపతి.
రాఘవ, సీతయ్య ల ఘర్షణలో అడ్డు వెళ్లిన రఘుపతి గాయం అవుతుంది.
రఘుపతి కోలుకుంటాడు. అతని కోరిక మీద రాఘవ ఎడ్ల పందాలలో పాల్గొని గెలుస్తాడు.

కాలేజీకి వెళ్ళగానే నోటీసు బోర్డులో ఉన్న ఒక సమాచారం రాజారాం దృష్టికి వచ్చింది.
సాయంత్రం 5 గంటలకు కాలేజీ ఆడిటోరియంలో 'అవయవ దానం' పై కుమారి కళ్యాణి ప్రసంగం ఉంటుంది. అభిరుచి, ఆసక్తి వున్నవాళ్లు హాజరు కావచ్చు అని దాని సారాంశం.
సోషల్ సర్వీస్ మీద ఉత్సుకత చూపించే రాజా సాయంత్రం కాలేజీ క్లాసులు అయిపోగానే కొంత మంది స్నేహితులతో కలసి ఆడిటోరియం కు వెళ్ళాడు.
డయాస్ పైకి చూపు సారిస్తూనే ఒక్కక్షణం విస్తుపోయాడు రాజారాం.
ముగ్ధ మనోహర సుకుమార లావణ్యవతి, ఇరవై ఏళ్ళ లేలేత జవ్వని వున్నది అక్కడ.
ఈమేనా ఈ టాపిక్ డీల్ చేసేది అని సంశయించాడు.
కాలేజీ కుర్రవాళ్ళ సంగతి తనకు తెలుసు. ఉపన్యసించడంలో ఏమాత్రం తటపటాయించినా తాటాకులు కడతారు. పిల్లికూతలు కూస్తూ కార్యక్రమమాన్ని రసాభాస చేస్తారు. ఏ కొద్దిగో చెపుదామని వచ్చిన వారు ఆ కంగారులో అది కాస్తా మరచిపోయి అభాసుపాలవుతారు.
సన్నగా, పొడుగ్గా, చలాకీగా కనిపిస్తున్న ఆ అమ్మాయిని జాలిగా చూసాడు.
కాలేజీ ప్రిన్సిపాల్ గారు మైక్ దగ్గరకొచ్చి "చాలా చిన్న వయసు లోనే కుమారి కళ్యాణి గారు 'అవయవ దానం' అనే విషయం మీద అనర్గళంగా మాట్లాడుతున్నారు.
టీ వీ లో కూడా వీరి ఉపన్యాసాలు వచ్చాయి.
దేశం లోని చాలా యూనివర్సిటీలలో, ప్రముఖ కాలేజీలలో వీరు వందలకొద్దీ ప్రసంగాలు చేసారు.
ఎన్నో కళాశాలలు, స్వచ్చందసంస్థలు వీరిని ఆహ్వానించి వారి దగ్గర ఉపన్యసించమని కోరుతున్నారు. మన కాలేజీ ఆహ్వానాన్ని పురస్కరించుకొని ఈ రోజు మనదగ్గరకు వచ్చారు. మీరంతా వారు చెప్పేది విని ఇష్టమైన
వారు అవయవ దానానికి మీ పేర్లు రిజిస్టర్ చేసుకోవచ్చు.
ఇప్పుడు కళ్యాణి గారు మాట్లాడుతారు."
అంటూ ఆయన డయాన్ నుండి క్రిందికి దిగారు.
కళ్యాణి మైక్ దగ్గరకు వచ్చింది.
అడిటోరియం అంతా కలయచూస్తూ "సభకు నమస్కారం" అన్నది.
కోయిల గానంలా ఆమె స్వరం ఆ అడిటోరియం ను పరవశింపచేసింది.

స్పృహ వచ్చిన ఆ యువతి తన పేరు కమల అనీ తనని శేషగిరి, అతని స్నేహితులు సామూహిక అత్యాచారం చేశారనీ చెబుతుంది. కమలకు తన ఇంట్లో ఆశ్రయం కల్పిస్తాడు రఘుపతి.
రాఘవ, సీతయ్య ల ఘర్షణలో అడ్డు వెళ్లిన రఘుపతి గాయం అవుతుంది.

పొలంలో సీతయ్యతో గొడవ పడుతుండగా తనచేతి కర్ర దెబ్బ అన్నయ్య తలను చీల్చటం చూసి బాధతో కృంగి పోయాడు రాఘవ.
హాస్పిటల్ లో చేర్చాక రక్తం కావాలంటే తనే ఇచ్చాడు.
రాజా ఇస్తానన్నా వద్దని మొండికేసి ఎంత రక్తం కావాలన్నా తన శరీరం నుండే తీయాలని ఏడుస్తూ డాక్టర్ కు మొరబెట్టుకున్నాడు.
రఘుపతికి స్పృహ వచ్చేదాకా పచ్చి మంచినీళ్లు కూడా ముట్టనన్నాడు. కంటికీమంటికీ ఏకధాటిగా ఏడుస్తూనే వున్నాడు.
అన్నయ్యను కొట్టిన చేయి వుండకూడదని హాస్పిటల్ లో తలుపు సండులో చేయి పెట్టి తలుపు బలంగా లాగబోయాడు. రాజా చూసి ఆపుచేసాడు. అప్పటినుండి ఎవరోఒకరు నిరంతరం రాఘవను కనిపెట్టుకొని వుండేవారు.
మగత వీడి రఘుపతి నెమ్మదిగా కళ్ళు తెరిచాడు.
చుట్టూ పరికించాడు.
ICU లో బెడ్ మీద వున్నాడు.
చేతికి సెలైన్ పెట్టివుంది.
తలంతా దిమ్ముగా, భారంగా వుంది. రఘుపతి కళ్ళు తెరవటం చూసి ప్రక్కనే వున్న నర్స్" డాక్టర్" అంటూ డ్యూటీలో వున్న డాక్టర్ ను పిలిచింది.
డాక్టర్ వచ్చి రఘుపతిని చూసాడు.
BP చెక్ చేస్తూ" మీ పేరు?"అడిగాడు.
" రఘుపతి" నీరసంగా బదులు పలికాడు రఘుపతి.
"గుడ్. చాలా త్వరగా రికవరీ అవుతున్నారు. ప్రస్తుతం మీరు ICU లో వున్నారు. రేపుగానీ, ఎల్లుండి గానీ జనరల్ రూం కి షిఫ్ట్ చేస్తాము. అంతవరకు మీరు ఎవరితో ఎక్కువుగా మాట్లాడకూడదు. మీకు స్పృహ వచ్చిందని మీ వారికి చెపుతాను. టేక్ రెస్ట్" అని డాక్టర్ ఇవ్వవలసిన మందులు, ఇంజక్షన్లు నర్స్ కు చెప్పి బయటికి నడిచాడు.
అక్కడ వేచివున్న రఘుపతి కుటుంబ సభ్యులకు
రఘుపతి స్పృహలోకి వచ్చిన విషయం చెప్పాడు.
రఘుపతి కి స్పృహ వచ్చిందన్న వార్త విని అందరూ వూపిరి పీల్చుకున్నారు.
"యిక మీరంతా ఇంటికెళ్లి రేపురండి. వారి మిసెస్ ఒక్కరు ఇక్కడ వుంటారు." అని చెప్పాడు. రాఘవ తాను కూడా ఆసుపత్రిలోనే వుంటానన్నాడు.
రాఘవ అన్నయ్య కాళ్ళపై పడి ఏడుస్తూ వుండిపోయాడు.
విశాలే అతన్ని దగ్గరకు తీసుకుని ఓదార్చింది.

తెల్లవారి రఘుపతి ని జనరల్ రూం కు షిఫ్ట్ చేసారు.
హాస్పిటల్ కి SI ప్రభాకర్ వచ్చాడు రఘుపతిని వెతుక్కుంటూ.
"ఎలా వున్నారు?" అని అడిగాడు.
"ఫరవాలేదు. బాగానే వున్నాను."

గాంధీ తండ్రి బలరామయ్య స్వాతంత్ర సమరంలో పాల్గొన్నాడు.
పక్కా గాంధేయవాది. లేక లేక పుట్టిన తన కొడుకుకు జాతిపిత గాంధీ గారి పేరు పెట్టుకున్నాడు.
మహాత్మా గాంధీ ఆశయాలను తాను త్రికరశుద్ధిగా పాటిస్తూ వాటిని కొడుకు కు నూరి పోసేవాడు.
గాంధీకి తండ్రి అంటే వల్లమాలిన ప్రేమ. తండ్రి మాటను ఎప్పుడూ జవదాటలేదు. సత్యం, అహింస మొదలైన సుగుణాలన్నీ తండ్రినుండి పుణికి పుచ్చుకున్నాడు. గాంధీ భార్య సత్యవతి కూడా భర్తకు తగ్గ ఇల్లాలే. మామగారిని తండ్రిలా ఆదరించి గౌరవించేది.
గాంధీకి ముగ్గురు మగపిల్లలు.
బలరామయ్య వారికి రఘుపతి, రాఘవ, రాజారాం అని పేర్లు పెట్టాడు. ముగ్గురూ తాతగారి స్వాతంత్ర పోరాట కథలను వింటూ పెరిగారు. ముగ్గురిలో రఘుపతి నెమ్మదైన వాడు. రాఘవ కొద్దిగా ఆవేశపరుడు. రాజా మధ్యస్తంగా వుండేవాడు.
రఘుపతి M . sc . చదివి కాలేజ్ సర్వీస్ కమీషన్ పరీక్ష పాస్ అయి మండల కేంద్రం లో వున్న ప్రభుత్వ జానియర్ కాలేజీలో జూనియర్ లెక్చరర్ గా పని చేస్తున్నాడు.
రాఘవ ఇంటర్ తో చదువుకి స్వస్తి పలికి వ్యవసాయం చేస్తున్నాడు.
రాజారాం మెకానికల్ ఇంజనీరింగు ఫైనల్ ఇయర్ చదువుతున్నాడు.
ముగ్గురు అన్నదమ్ములు ఒకేమాట, ఒకే బాట అన్నట్లుగా వుంటారు. ఒకరంటే ఒకరికి ఎనలేని ప్రేమ. అనురాగాలకు, అనుబంధాలకు ఆ ఇల్లు ప్రత్యక్ష సాక్ష్యంగా నిలుస్తుంది.
ఉద్యోగం రాగానే రఘుపతికి పెళ్ళి చేసారు. విశాల డిగ్రీ చదివింది. ఉమ్మడి కుటుంబంలో పెద్దకోడలిగా బాగా కలిసిపోయింది.
రాఘవ, రాజా వదిన దగ్గర బాగా గారాలు పోతారు. ఏది కావలసిన ముందుగా వదినకే చెపుతారు.
విశాల కూడా వారి కోరికలను నవ్వుతూ నెరవేరుస్తుంది. తల్లి తండ్రులతో, అన్నతో పంచుకోలేని విషయాలను కూడా వదినతో చెపుతుంటారు.

దాదాపుగా అర్ధ నగ్నంగా కనిపిస్తున్న ఆమెను చూస్తూ ప్రక్కనున్న పెద్దమనిషి తలకు చుట్టుకొనివున్న తువ్వాలుని అడిగి తీసుకొని ఆమెపై కప్పాడు.
ఇంతలో పోలీసులు వచ్చారు.
గుంపును చెదరగొట్టి ఆ యువతి దగ్గరకు వెళ్ళారు.
ఒక కానిస్టేబుల్ ఆమె ముక్కు దగ్గర వేలు ఉంచి చూసాడు.
" సార్, ఈమె బ్రతికే వుంది. "
అన్నాడు SI తో.
SI వెంటనే 108 కు ఫోన్ చేసాడు.
పోలీసుల వెంట వచ్చిన కెమెరామెన్ ఆమెను ఫోటోలు తీస్తున్నాడు.
ఆ యువతిని ఎక్కడో చూసినట్లు అనిపించింది రఘుపతికి.
జ్ఞాపకం తెచ్చుకోవటానికి ప్రయత్నిస్తూ SI దగ్గిరకు వెళ్ళి విష్ చేసాడు.
"SI గారూ ఈమెను ఇంతకుముందు ఎక్కడో చూసినట్లు గుర్తు" అని అన్నాడు.
"ఎక్కడ చూసారు?" SI అడిగాడు.
రఘుపతి రెండు నిమిషాలు ఆలోచిస్తున్నట్లు ఉండిపోయాడు.
" ఆ గుర్తొచ్చింది. మా వూరి రైతు సీతయ్య బావమరిదితో కనిపించింది రెండుసార్లు. పెట్రోలు బంక్ దగ్గర ఒకసారి కనిపించింది. నేను పెట్రోల్ పోయించుకోవటానికి వెళ్ళినప్పుడు సీతయ్య బావమరిది శేషగిరి పెట్రోల్ బంక్ వాడితో గొడవపడుతున్నాడు.
అప్పుడు ఈమె శేషగిరి బండిపైన కూర్చొని కనిపించింది. మాములుగా అయితే అంత గుర్తుండేది కాదు. కానీ శేషగిరి గొడవకు అటు చూసిన నాకు ఈమె కనిపించింది.
శేషగిరి భార్య నాకు తెలుసు. ఈమెను చూసి ఎవరో బంధువులో, తెలిసిన వారో అనుకున్నాను. శేషగిరి నన్ను గమనించలేదు. రెండు మూడు నిమిషాలపాటు పెద్దగా అరచి అక్కడినుండి బండి తీసుకుని వెళ్ళిపోయాడు ఈమెతో పాటుగా.
రెండవసారి సినిమా హాల్లో కనిపించారు. మా ముందు వరుసలో కూర్చున్నారు వీరిద్దరూ. ఊళ్ళో సీతయ్యకు, మాకు పొలం సరిహద్దుల గురించి కొద్దిగా గొడవలున్నాయ్. అందుకే శేషగిరిని చూసినా పలకరించలేదు" చెప్పాడు రఘుపతి.
"శేషగిరిది ఏ వూరు?" అడిగాడు SI.
"గువ్వల పాలెం. ఎక్కువుగా అక్కగారింట్లో అంటే మావూరిలోనే ఉంటాడు. పిల్లలు లేరు. భార్య ఆ వూరిలో, ఇతను మావూరిలో.. జల్సా రాయుడని అందరూ అనుకుంటుంటే విన్నాను. అతనితో నాకు ఎక్కువ పరిచయం లేదు."
SI ప్రభాకర్ పోలీస్ స్టేషనుకు ఫోన్ చేసి వెంకటాయపాలెం, గువ్వలపాలెం లకు కానిస్టేబుల్స్ ను పంపించాడు.
శేషగిరి ఎక్కడున్నా పోలీస్ స్టేషనుకు తీసుకు రమ్మని.
108 వచ్చింది.
ఆ యువతిని పట్టుకొని లేపుతుంటే దగ్గరగా వెళ్ళి చూసాడు SI ప్రభాకర్. గొంతు నులిమినట్లుగా కంఠంపై కమిలిపోయిన గుర్తులున్నాయి.
