She is actively involved in international cultural relations, heritage preservation, and political and feminist activism. She worked with the Institut Français du Proche-Orient, then oversaw regional arts programs at the British Council. She has curated exhibitions exploring the intersection of art and politics, presented alongside international forums. Since 2019, she has served as Executive Director of the Syrian Women’s Political Movement. It is prepared by and presented by Reham Kannout Alrefaie.About the guest:Born in Damascus, Syria, Sulafa Hijazi is a Berlin-based director and interdisciplinary artist. She studied at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Syria, majoring in dramatic studies, and at the Städelschule Contemporary Fine Art Academy in Frankfurt, Germany. Currently, she’s finishing a Master in New Media Design in Berlin.With a background in theater, animation, conceptual art, and films, she has created a diverse range of work that intersects various media and digital technologies, including multimedia installations, augmented reality, digital illustrations, lenticular prints, and animated films, as well as participatory and edutainment projects.Her artworks have been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums, featured on online platforms, newspapers, and books, and are part of acclaimed art collections such as the British Museum in London, Barjeel Art Foundation in Sharjah, and International Media Support (IMS) in Copen

Hiwar | حوارالعاطفة والذاكرة في أعمال الفنان السوري عادل داوودSend us a textفي الحلقة الأولى من الموسم الثاني من مدونة حوار الصوتية نستضيف الفنان السوري عادل داوود والذي حدثنا عن الأبعاد العاطفية والذاكرة في أعماله التعبيرية.سُجلت الحلقة في تاريخ ٥ فبراير شباط ٢٠٢٥. من إعداد فريق مؤسسة أتاسي ومن تقديم رهام قنوت رفاعي.نبذة عن الضيف:وُلِدَ عادل داوود في الحسكة عام ١٩٨٠، ودرس في معهد الفنون فيها، ثم تخرج من كلية الفنون الجميلة قسم التصوير الزيتي في ٢٠١١، وانتقل إلى النمسا في عام ٢٠١٣.تمزج أعمال عادل بين التجريدية والتعبيرية، وتبتعد عن التشخيص والمباشرة في محاولة لاستكشاف جوهر الطبيعة البشرية والتجارب الجمعية، فتتداخل الخطوط والمساحات اللونية لتصور أشكالاً بشريّة غالباً ما تبدو مشرذمة في الفراغ، تحمّلها الألوان أبعاداً عاطفية وذاكراتية أو حتى عنيفة ومؤلمة، وتتحول الشخوص في أعمالٍ أخرى إلى كائنات وحشيّة هجينة يسميها الفنان بمخلوقاتٍ أسطورية، تناظرنا بعيونها أو تكشر عن أنيابها، فتقدم دلالات متنوعة.أقام عادل معارض فردية وشارك في معارض جماعية في العديد من الدول، كما وأن أعماله مقتناة من قبل متاحف ومؤسسات مرموقة.روابط الكترونية أُشيرَ لها في الحلقة: الموقع الالكتروني للفنان عادل داوودالموقع الالكتروني لمؤسسة أتاسيرابط استمارة الآراء والمقترحات -------------------In the first episode of the second season of Hiwar, we host Syrian artist Adel Dauood, who talks about the emotional and mnemonic dimensions of his expressionist work.The episode was recorded on February 5, 2025. It is prepared by the Atassi Foundation team and presented by Reham Kannout Alrefaie.About the guest:Adel Dauood, born in Al Hasakah in 1980, studied at the Art Institute in Al Hasakah and graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Oil Painting in 2011. He moved to Austria in 2013.Adel's work blends abstraction and expressionism, moving away from Figurative and literal expression in an attempt to explore the essence of human nature and collective experiences. Lines and color spaces intertwine to depict human forms that often appear fragmented in the void, with colors that carry emotional, mnemonic, or even violent and painful dimensions. In other works, the figures transform into hybrid monstrous beings that the artist calls mythological creatures, which watch us with their eyes or bare their fangs, implying various connotations.Adel held several solo exhibitions and participated in group exhibitions in many countries.
