The Powerful King – Rev. Keith Fagerheim
Jesus sleeps in the boat as the storm rages. Will he awake and help them? A sermon on Mark 4:35-41 by Rev. Keith Fagerheim. Quote: Jesus is the God of Genesis, who speaks light into darkness and brings order to the deep waters. And this is the foundation upon which the disciples can trust that Jesus—in being God—is ultimately in control … He says: “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith? I am here in the middle of all this chaos, doing my work, even if you think I am not.” – K. Marc Choi

The Shining Light & The Growing Seed – Rev. Keith Fagerheim
Guest preacher, Rev. Keith Fagerheim preaches from Mark 4:21-34. Quotes: In faith, we are willing to let go of our dependence on what we see and experience here and now in order to embrace the announcement that a new world has been created by God’s declarative word. God’s promise creates a new world out of darkness and void, fertile pastures of fruit bearing trees out of the infertile soil of unbelief and ungodliness. This covenant is not a call to attain a future that [we] can see and control, but to receive a future that God has spok...

The Word of the King – Rev. Keith Fagerheim
Jesus tells a parable about sowing seed in various places. What might this have to do with learning about the kingdom of God? A sermon on the Parable of the Sower by Rev. Keith Fagerheim. Quotes: In this parable the future is not only guaranteed—the harvest will come as soon as the time is ripe for it—but is also directly connected with the present. The word is sent out, i.e., the authoritative word of Christ. It does not fall to the earth and return empty. The preaching of the gospel is itself the guarantee of t...

Simeon’s Song – Rev. Keith Fagerheim
An old man had been waiting his entire life to catch a glimpse of God’s promised King. And then, one day, it finally happened! Taking the infant Christ in his arms, he sang a song of liberation. Guest Preacher, Rev. Keith Fagerheim preaches on the Presentation of Christ at the Temple from Luke 2:22-40. Quotes: Like every other area of life, we have come to believe that growth in Christ — as individuals or as churches — can and should be programmed to generate predictable outcomes that are unrealistic and are not even justified biblically. We want big result...

Seeing the Light
Jesus approaches a man who was born blind and heals him. The Pharisees, who are wary of Jesus’ growing popularity do not want news of this miracle to spread. They seek to silence the man by threatening to expel him from the synagogue. Undeterred, the man testifies that it was Jesus who healed him, and the Pharisees follow through with their threat. This sermon was preached on March 19, 2023 by guest preacher Rev. Keith Fagerheim. Sermon Text: As he passed by, he saw a man blind from birth. 2 And his disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or h...

Giving – Rev. Keith Fagerheim
The book of Habakkuk closes with the prophet declaring that even if the harvest does not come in, he will still give to the Lord and take joy in his God. Our culture often considers giving to be done out of one’s excess, of what is left over. If we have some extra, then we may give some of that away. However the Bible teaches that because God has given us everything that we have, we are to give first to God and trust him to provide for us. Rev. Keith Fagerheim was our guest preacher today.
