E48 - 9 Baking Questions with Richard Charpentier
At BAKERpedia, we hear a lot of questions from bakers. And most of the time, we find that a lot of other people are wondering the same thing. That’s why we spend time each week answering questions on social media and our BAKERforum (https://bakerpedia.com/forums/) A few questions keep coming up. So in this episode, Dr. Lin Carson brings on Richard Charpentier to answer 9 of them. Since a very young age growing up in France, Richard has had a heart for baking. Water Heaters and Facebook - A day in my Airstream life!
So yeah, the hot water heater sprung a leak last night. Ah the joys of full time RVing. Today's podcast we talk a little about last night's exciting leak. Home owners experience similar stuff all the time. It's no different in the Airstream, but still aggravating. For the second part of today's program I talk about the fact that I'm not as active on Facebook as it looks. My podcast is uploaded to Facebook through its own interface. The podcast also gets uploaded to Twitter from the Anchor FM app as well, and I never look at Twitter. So, how...

Make sure your city water intake isn't frozen, and also make sure the inside of your RV isn't frozen either! Today's podcast is a chilly one. The heated water hose is doing great. Full Time RVers and YouTube - Making an income with social media?
Recently I watched a favorite full time RV couple's YouTube video about needing some help from their audience. They were looking for testimonials from viewers to share with potential advertisers. Bottom line? They're trying to earn their full time living with their YouTube channel about living in an RV. Nothing wrong with that. We've all got to earn a living. I wonder though how many viewers actually make buying decisions based on their favorite Full Time RVers. See, a lot of RV channel followers aren't RVers yet. Tech Talk Tuesday - Oh Apple
Apple's recent event left me a little underwhelmed. The new iPad Pros, the new Mac Mini, and the updated Macbook Air. In the end my response could be summed up in one word. Meh. I've never considered myself a "power user," but I do a lot of things other Apple buyers don't do. I podcast, edit videos, created 3D drone maps, edit photos, and more. So I suppose from that perspective I'm more of a power user than most. And the recent updates to Apple's lineup just aren't crying out to me. Here's hoping by the time I have to...

Tech Talk Tuesday - Why are professional photographers so expensive? It's all digital now, right?
This is a tech talk / work talk Tuesday episode. Over the years I've met many full time RV'ers who try to make a living doing photography while on the road. Often they realize (too late) that they're priced to low for the services they offer, and they end up looking for alternative revenue streams. I'm one of those people myself. I moved away from private portraits to commercial work, as I could request my actual value in commercial situations. So, why is professional photography still "so expensive" even with the advent of digital photography? We talk about that in today's...

The quest for perfection leads to procrastination
Small business owners face some challenges that are shared by all of us. Often times we use the excuse of trying to get something perfect to help us avoid showing our final product to the world. At times the perfection quest can become paralyzing and keeps us from succeeding at what we're doing. A class I took years ago from UGurus addressed this issue. And the owner of the company, Brent Weaver said something that really hit home for me. "Do something imperfect." That's what we're talking about today here at the Airstream Chronicles! •Check out my Drone Photography Course...

The Airstream Chronicles
Oh No! I missed my first weekday podcast since starting!
That's right. Yesterday's tech talk Thursday was missed. Fortunately I'm not going to hold myself to a super rigorous standard when it comes to my social media. There are times when your focus is elsewhere, and that's ok. As is often the case, work takes precedent. And so that's my excuse for yesterday. I might just do a longer camping podcast over the weekend to make up for it, but we'll have to wait and see. •Check out my Drone Photography Course - Only $10 for listeners: https://bit.ly/2Q9Y1Zo •Learn to build websites with X Theme and Word...

Airstreams - The Original Tiny Home
There's so much out there these days about the tiny home movement. Living a more minimalist lifestyle and all that. I have to say, I've been a full time Airstreamer for over a decade now, and I think the original tiny homes might just be RV's. Mobile home, small footprint, and definitely requiring a conscious effort to not clutter your little home. Today we talk Tiny Homes, a new Tiny Home Hotel in Cave Creek AZ, and my puzzling over how mobile tiny houses really are. •Check out my class on Drone Photography and Image Editing, more than 50% off for vi...

Happy Labor Day from The Airstream Chronicles
Today's podcast is a short one. I just wanted to wish everyone a happy long weekend. This weekend the Airstream stayed put. And I almost achieved relaxation....almost. As a small business owner who works from his home, it's tough sometimes to separate work and rest time. Work is always right there with you. In today's episode I talk a little more about my new online course, and how that ties into my full time Airstream living. Want to check out the new course? •Check out my class on Drone Photography and Image Editing, more than 50% off for visitors to th...

The Airstream Chronicles 2018 - Episode 1
This is the first episode in a new podcast series from Rich Charpentier and the Airstream Chronicles. Today I introduce the new series to you and tell you a little about what we'll be covering here. The plan here is to create a new show from my home and office, a 25 foot 2004 Airstream Safari. This podcast isn't going to be all RV'ing all the time. Instead we'll cover a variety of topics from mobile technology to camping stories. We'll also talk about the latest trends in mobile tech for mobile workers, and occasionally we'll touch on topics that are important...
