我知道你喜欢音乐，特别和朋友借了这张黑胶唱片。这首《J'ai deux amours》（我有两个爱人） 是1920年代在巴黎大鸣大放的美国歌唱家约瑟芬·贝克（Josephine Baker）唱的，这首歌在法国可是家喻户晓呢！

贝克的歌声柔美，歌词深情款款。特别是这两句——
J'ai deux amours（我有两个爱人哪）
Mon pays et Paris（我的家乡与巴黎）
Par eux toujours（每天与他们在一起）
Mon coeur est ravi（我的心就狂喜）
hmm... 听起来，是不是让人酥麻麻的呢？我认为，感受城市的方式有很多种，你可以因为某种气味，爱上一座城市；因为听了一首好歌，爱上了一座城市，然后，你可能会因为这座城市，而记住某个人……
延续上次提到的音乐与香水，其实还有一个共通性，那就是它们的魅力不分国界。想一想：你可以不懂歌手唱的语言，可以不知道怎么正确念一个香水的名字，甚至说不出里头有什么香水成分，但是我们只要听到一段旋律、闻到一款香水...... voila~ 一种莫名的情绪就被挑动起来了，不是吗？
《J’ai deux amours》真是一首好有味道的歌，百听不厌…… 呃？不过，为什么我们会形容一首歌“很有味道”啊？
的确，食物有味道，但是音乐有味道是不可能的！不过中文有一种修辞手法叫“通感”，可以用其他的感官来形容一种事物。比如我说“你唱的歌很好听”，把“好听”换成“有味道”，这就是修辞，因为我用味觉来修辞听觉。所以，如果我用味觉修辞视觉，我会说“你看起来很辣”；我用味觉修辞触觉，我就说“你的皮肤摸起来干干涩涩的”；如果我用味觉修辞嗅觉，那我会说“你闻起来很甜美”......
我记得作家钱钟书先生这么解释通感，他说：“在日常经验里，视觉、听觉、触觉、嗅觉、味觉往往可以彼此打通或交通，眼、耳、舌、鼻、身各个官能的领域，可以不分界线……”

钱钟书又说，通感是“一种感觉超越了本身的局限而领会到属于另一种感觉的印象。”这种文学上的通感，也可以运用在香水艺术的调香通感上， 所以我们在欣赏一款香水的调香艺术，是可以透过通感在我们的大脑里产生一种愉悦的情绪。当你说“这款香水的味道真香”，这是纯粹从鼻子闻到东西的感觉，可是你说“这款香水闻起来真有味道”，那么这不再是嗅觉上的感觉而已，而是一种感官互相交应所产生的趣味，一种意味。这种从感觉到意味的过程，其实就是气味美学欣赏的过程。
你知道吗？通感能力的训练，对于像我这样从事香水行业的人来说至关重要。借用其他感官，不仅可以辅助我们的嗅觉，还可以丰富词汇，帮助我们将感受更丰满、贴切地表达出来。
我一直觉得中文“味道”这两个字是形容美感最贴切的表达方式。只要有艺术性，一首歌、一幅画、一件衣服、一款香水，这些作品都可以好到让人感觉“好有味道”。
不过...... 如果艺术家本人比他自己的作品更出色、更有味道，ooh la la~ 那也挺有趣味的！现在，我把现场还原到20年代的蒙马特的一个爵士俱乐部，Le Boeuf sur le Toit，中文意思是“屋顶上的牛”—— 放心，在这里你不会闻到牛排味，而是闻到名字和作品一样有滋有味的诗人尚·考克多（Jean Cocteau）。

前卫艺术家的据点——屋顶上的牛
Cocteau与其他很会玩、很爱玩、也喜欢玩的前卫艺术家朋友们，用梦想编织了一个有个性的地方，这里也是法国历史上第一家爵士俱乐部，“屋顶上的牛”。在这里，人们可以聚会、玩耍，每个人都能享受宾至如归的感觉。
为什么会取这个奇特的名字啊？那是因为Cocteau的一句话…… 事实上，“屋顶上的牛”这个名字来自法国音乐家达律斯·米约（Darius Milhaud），他曾在巴西住过一阵子，喜爱桑巴音乐，曾为自己作曲的芭蕾舞剧取名《屋顶上的牛》，后来被Cocteau拿来当作了自己新书的名字。
Cocteau的朋友，小酒馆“嘎亚”（Gaya）的老板墨赛（L. Moyses）因为生意愈做愈火，决定将店迁到大一点的地方——香榭丽舍大道附近的Rue Boissy d’Anglais。但是当墨赛为这间巴黎史上第一家完全以爵士乐为主的俱乐部的取名伤脑筋的时候，在一旁快手快脚的Cocteau灵机一动说：“要不干脆用我的新书《Le Boeuf sur le Toit》命名？” Voila~ 就这样，1921年12月，法国历史上第一家爵士俱乐部诞生了。在Cocteau的主导下，“屋顶上的牛”很快成为所有稀奇古怪前卫艺术家的据点。
现在，请你跟我一起想象：
曾为Cocteau的作品《人性之声》（La Voix Humaine) 作曲的音乐家弗朗西斯·普朗克（Francis Poulenc），硬是从隐居小屋把即将退休的萨蒂（Erik Satie）拖出了门。Satie甚至还来不及换上正式的晚礼服、喷古龙水，就急急忙忙地套上一件夹克，撑开雨伞，戴着他心爱的圆顶礼帽，顶着巴黎常有的细雨，和Poulenc前往“屋顶上的牛”。 Satie一脚踏入俱乐部，才发现，自己脚上还穿着家居拖鞋……

嗯...... 你能想象这样的场景吗？是不是很有味道呢？
著名但不出名的诗人
如果我是一个策展人或是导演，面对着这样的胜景，一定口水直流，嫉妒死了。这么强大的阵容，如果弄个策展或是拍部电影，绝对比历经十余年间的漫威电影更强势、更卖座！
不过，Cocteau是谁呀，怎么有那什么大的能耐，能打入全巴黎最优秀的艺术家朋友圈，甚至一起跨界合作？

其实，Cocteau在20几岁的时候，就开始与法国文坛大咖作家马塞尔·普鲁斯特（Marcel Proust）、安德烈·纪德（Andre Gide）和莫里斯·巴雷斯（Maurice Barrès）交往。Cocteau长得优雅知性，精通说话之道，全身上下所散发着一股无可抵挡的味道，这个味道，也就是英文所说的“carisma”，一种超凡的魅力。他感召了艺术赞助人如Misia和香奈儿，感召了画家毕加索和阿梅代奥·莫迪利亚尼（Amedeo Modigliani），以及诗人纪尧姆·阿波利奈尔（Guillaume Apollinaire），还有后来许多其他的作家和艺术家们。
1917年，Diaghilev制作、Satie作曲、毕加索做舞台设计的芭蕾舞剧《Parade》正是由Misia赞助的，而写剧本的就是Cocteau本人。当初，Diaghilev几乎说破嘴，才说服Misia给Cocteau工作。之后Cocteau的名气如日中天，1924年他写了歌剧《安提戈涅》（Antigone）的剧本，1926年又写了歌剧《俄耳甫斯》（Orpheus）的剧本，而两个歌剧的服装设计，就是香奈儿女士。1927年，他也替Stravinsky作曲的歌剧《俄狄浦斯王》（Oedipus Rex）写了剧本…… 毫不夸张地说，当时巴黎文艺圈的艺术大咖，几乎都跟Cocteau合作过了。

不过，虽然有那么多的大咖艺术家们加持，Cocteau在艺术史上却被认为是一个“著名但不出名”的诗人—— 这话怎么说呢？
法国文艺评论家形容Cocteau是一位“臭名昭彰”但多才多艺的艺术家。形容他“多才多艺”，那是因为他的作品出现在各种类型的媒体中，也就是说，你能想到的任何艺术与形式他都沾过——比如诗歌，小说，绘画，戏剧，芭蕾，布景，表演，电影、音乐等等。甚至他还曾经做过运动经纪人，捧红了一位拳击手！
有些评论家推测，Cocteau可能与这些艺术家太“麻吉”了，也有可能他只是想展现或是推广这些艺术家们的创意，所以他的作品或多或少有艺术家朋友的影子。当时巴黎文艺圈有人八卦，以写诗闻名的Cocteau搭上这些前卫艺术的顺风车，是想借此扩张自己多重斜杠艺术家的title，而对于只相信“专业”、不信“通才”的文艺评论家来说，Cocteau兴趣太广泛了，所以他所做的每一件事都只是“okay”而不是“wow”—— 说明白一点，就是“打打嘴炮还行”。什么都懂，就代表都不懂——他的绘画虽然有特色，但是看出来是受了画家朋友毕加索的影响；他的电影作品，充分表达他对超现实主义运动的见解，但是不被当时超现实主义的创始人安德烈·布勒东（André Breton）认同；即使他最擅长写诗，流通的诗集作品也只局限在法文国家，并没有太多国际认可的作品。

我知道你喜欢音乐，特别和朋友借了这张黑胶唱片。这首《J'ai deux amours》（我有两个爱人） 是1920年代在巴黎大鸣大放的美国歌唱家约瑟芬·贝克（Josephine Baker）唱的，这首歌在法国可是家喻户晓呢！

Par eux toujours（每天与他们在一起）

hmm... 听起来，是不是让人酥麻麻的呢？我认为，感受城市的方式有很多种，你可以因为某种气味，爱上一座城市；因为听了一首好歌，爱上了一座城市，然后，你可能会因为这座城市，而记住某个人……
延续上次提到的音乐与香水，其实还有一个共通性，那就是它们的魅力不分国界。想一想：你可以不懂歌手唱的语言，可以不知道怎么正确念一个香水的名字，甚至说不出里头有什么香水成分，但是我们只要听到一段旋律、闻到一款香水...... voila~ 一种莫名的情绪就被挑动起来了，不是吗？
《J';ai deux amours》真是一首好有味道的歌，百听不厌…… 呃？不过，为什么我们会形容一首歌"很有味道"啊？
的确，食物有味道，但是音乐有味道是不可能的！不过中文有一种修辞手法叫"通感"，可以用其他的感官来形容一种事物。比如我说"你唱的歌很好听"，把"好听"换成"有味道"，这就是修辞，因为我用味觉来修辞听觉。所以，如果我用味觉修辞视觉，我会说"你看起来很辣"；我用味觉修辞触觉，我就说"你的皮肤摸起来干干涩涩的"；如果我用味觉修辞嗅觉，那我会说"你闻起来很甜美"......
我记得作家钱钟书先生这么解释通感，他说："在日常经验里，视觉、听觉、触觉、嗅觉、味觉往往可以彼此打通或交通，眼、耳、舌、鼻、身各个官能的领域，可以不分界线……"

钱钟书又说，通感是"一种感觉超越了本身的局限而领会到属于另一种感觉的印象。"这种文学上的通感，也可以运用在香水艺术的调香通感上， 所以我们在欣赏一款香水的调香艺术，是可以透过通感在我们的大脑里产生一种愉悦的情绪。当你说"这款香水的味道真香"，这是纯粹从鼻子闻到东西的感觉，可是你说"这款香水闻起来真有味道"，那么这不再是嗅觉上的感觉而已，而是一种感官互相交应所产生的趣味，一种意味。这种从感觉到意味的过程，其实就是气味美学欣赏的过程。
你知道吗？通感能力的训练，对于像我这样从事香水行业的人来说至关重要。借用其他感官，不仅可以辅助我们的嗅觉，还可以丰富词汇，帮助我们将感受更丰满、贴切地表达出来。
我一直觉得中文"味道"这两个字是形容美感最贴切的表达方式。只要有艺术性，一首歌、一幅画、一件衣服、一款香水，这些作品都可以好到让人感觉"好有味道"。
不过...... 如果艺术家本人比他自己的作品更出色、更有味道，ooh la la~ 那也挺有趣味的！现在，我把现场还原到20年代的蒙马特的一个爵士俱乐部，Le Boeuf sur le Toit，中文意思是"屋顶上的牛"—— 放心，在这里你不会闻到牛排味，而是闻到名字和作品一样有滋有味的诗人尚·考克多（Jean Cocteau）。

前卫艺术家的据点——屋顶上的牛
Cocteau与其他很会玩、很爱玩、也喜欢玩的前卫艺术家朋友们，用梦想编织了一个有个性的地方，这里也是法国历史上第一家爵士俱乐部，"屋顶上的牛"。在这里，人们可以聚会、玩耍，每个人都能享受宾至如归的感觉。
为什么会取这个奇特的名字啊？那是因为Cocteau的一句话…… 事实上，"屋顶上的牛"这个名字来自法国音乐家达律斯·米约（Darius Milhaud），他曾在巴西住过一阵子，喜爱桑巴音乐，曾为自己作曲的芭蕾舞剧取名《屋顶上的牛》，后来被Cocteau拿来当作了自己新书的名字。
Cocteau的朋友，小酒馆"嘎亚"（Gaya）的老板墨赛（L. Moyses）因为生意愈做愈火，决定将店迁到大一点的地方——香榭丽舍大道附近的Rue Boissy d';Anglais。但是当墨赛为这间巴黎史上第一家完全以爵士乐为主的俱乐部的取名伤脑筋的时候，在一旁快手快脚的Cocteau灵机一动说："要不干脆用我的新书《Le Boeuf sur le Toit》命名？" Voila~ 就这样，1921年12月，法国历史上第一家爵士俱乐部诞生了。在Cocteau的主导下，"屋顶上的牛"很快成为所有稀奇古怪前卫艺术家的据点。
现在，请你跟我一起想象：

虽然许多艺术评论家认为Cocteau的诗歌比他的绘画更具创新性，他的电影和歌剧的剧本比他的戏剧创作更有说服力…… 我必须公平地说，Cocteau绝对是前卫艺术的重要代表人物之一，对其他艺术家的作品产生了深远的影响。
在音乐上，Cocteau是"六人团"（Le Groupe des six）的代言人与倡导者，给20世纪的音乐带来的贡献不可磨灭。如果你喜欢看电影，更爱法国电影，那么在电影上，Cocteau和罗伯特·布列松（Robert Bresson）是对新浪潮一代最为关键的法国导演，甚至是直接促使雅克·里维特（Jacques Rivette）走上电影道路的人。在文学上，他一手发现并扶持了可谓20世纪最惊世骇俗的文学怪才让·热内（Jean Genet）。对于前卫艺术，Cocteau的贡献包括：他模糊了艺术流派，比如新古典、达达主义、超现实主义等等彼此的界线；他倡导任何艺术形式的现代主义；他还鼓励其他的艺术家朝着新的方向去创作——不止成为一位艺术家，还要当一位拥有多重斜杠身份的艺术人物。就像Cocteau他自己。
说到这里，你觉不觉得诗人Cocteau更像是一个称职的代言人/策展人/倡导者呢？少了他推广前卫艺术的精神和观念，20年代的巴黎绝对少了一味。

做好工作，与人分享
提到推广，我想到这几年常常收到设计学生的邮件，问我：如何让自己的作品被发现？
如果有一个公开的秘密公式，我一定立马告诉他们。但是，我只有一个不太秘密的秘密公式，那就是做好工作，并且与人分享。
其实，"做好工作"是极度、极度、极度困难的事，否则Cocteau就不会被评论家揶揄为"半瓶水叮当响"了。他曾经感叹："我的名字已经取代了我的作品了…… " 然后又很有自知之明地说："我的作品必须赶上。';';
其实，无论是"无所畏惧"的设计师香奈儿、"变中求变"的毕加索，还是坚守"打破规则之前，先学习规则"的Stravinsky，"做好工作"这件事也都是打造他们创意特质的基本功。我在工作中，认识几个相当优秀的创意人，别看他们在闪光灯下光鲜亮丽，可是实际生活里的他们是：眼圈黑如熊猫，卷起袖子，孜孜不倦地在工作室里熬夜创作，而陪伴他们的只有一盏孤灯、一头乱发，还有一个孤独的影子，幸运的话，或许还可以碰到窗外的一轮明月......
"做好工作"之后，就是"与人分享"。有人认为Cocteau是现代艺术史上第一个懂得善用媒体资源的人，他一向给人舌灿莲花、伶牙俐齿的形象，无论是在促销自己或是他人的作品时都发挥了极大的作用。对于这一点，我是很欣赏的，就像香水一样，没有被发现、被闻过，怎么被欣赏？ 在那个没有社交媒体的时代，本身是艺术家，愿意和其他艺术家磨合创作和花时间推广艺术理念，又懂得如何和赞助人沟通，与媒体粉丝打交道…… 有这种八爪鱼能力的人，Cocteau绝对是第一名！

Cocteau来自优渥的家庭，长的俊秀优雅，口条又特别好，所以当他一进入上流社会与文艺精英的圈子里，马上成为注目的焦点。他意识到，写诗是他的才华，但是经由他放纵地调入大胆与自由的性格，他本身，就是一首读起来很有味道的诗了。
嗯…… 什么味道啊？ "Je ne sais quoi"—— 你听过这句法文吗？法国人常用它来形容面对一个人或一件事，那种无法解释的莫名好感。我特别喜欢用"Je ne sais quoi"这句话来称赞一个人身上散发的香水味，因为这代表这款香水已经成为他身上的第二层肌肤，让人感觉他有一种属于自己，但又说不出来的好味道，而这也是香水美学的最高境界！
结语
我觉得，从唱片架上挑选一张爵士老唱片放到转盘上，然后将唱针轻轻放在声槽上…… 这种感觉真好，就像是早晨起来挑选一款香水一样。让人想到，"穿上"它时我们所做的一连串动作——用眼睛去选、用手去触摸去打开、再听到香水发出优美的"chiiiiii"一声，然后慢慢的嗅闻香水和自己皮肤产生一种温柔的愉悦感，最后迎接一天的开始……
