Doubting his ability, some religious persons question Jesus, “Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

Psalm 51 is David’s prayer penitence, and serves well as a model for all who experience the guilt of shame, and seek to be forgiven and restored by the Lord.

In Psalm 42 we can learn how God enters into our sadness and strife, and how we can interact with him in the midst of it.
